I would have to respectfully disagree... even at the highest levels of difficulty in EA PGA Tour it still plays like a arcade game.
There is a massive difference between the highest difficulties between EA and 2K.
And respectfully in my opinion 2K does a better job of representing the experience of golf over EA. Neither is perfect... but 2K is much better IMHO.
Though EA may have a better look and feel with the swing animation. The actual physics are much better on 2K.
I was wondering what the biggest difference you see with PGA Tour are? Is it with how physics or certain mechanic function that make it not feel more representative?

Hi @ELF014, Thanks for sharing feedback as well.

There are things I like about the EA game... the swing animation for one, I think you got that down right. I know some people feel it is to slow but it allows for partial swings.
There is a long list of things that need addressing. And I don't thing all of them would affect play for those that like the current game.
We definitely need more granularity in the settings for private matches. If a setting is available in the games setup we should be able to toggle it on, off or leave it open. It is hard to believe that playing in SIM mode you still have a swing meter available, there is nothing SIM about that.
I would like to be able to disable the aiming reticule... you don't have one in real-life why would you need one in SIM play. Putting should really be velocity based (ie. How far you take back your putter and how hard you stroke the shot). Currently you just set your distance marker and take your club back the correct to the set point.
As far as physics go, there is seldom any difference between whether you are in the rough, sand or fairway. There should be a premium for being in the fairway... hitting out of the rough should decrease the amount of spin you can apply to the as well as lost of distance/control. Why have multiple lengths of rough in the game if they do nothing?
There also is a fair amount of drop off with the amount of spin on mid irons when hitting a ball into a green. I don't remember anymore but somewhere between a 7-iron and 5-iron it falls off the table.
I would like to see more difficult shots be harder to execute, meaning a ball on the fairway would be easier to time than one in the rough for a perfect strike. A Flop Shot more difficult than a normal one.
Flopping and blasting shots out of the bunkers are far to easy to execute. Maybe having the ability to have multiple green speed settings would help address this, but the ball should release more. Especially if you are above the pin and/or coming out of rough. Where you have grass between the ball and the grooves of your club face.
There are greens now that don't seem realistic, 16 at Augusta is a prime example.... on the day 4 pin location, if you hit the ball above the hole on the right and it starts to feed down to the hole there is little to stop it from what I have seen on TV. In this game I have often stopped on the hill. Again having the ability to set faster green speeds would probably address this and still keep the current user base happy.
I could go on, but this is just what is coming into my head right now.
I like the fact that there are 20 shot types, but because the game plays so easy you really only need about 6.
I truly feel EA has catered to a more casual group of players which is fine, but I think there is a very large demographic of more serious players you are losing out on.
Until EA implements Country Clubs it may not matter, but gameplay matters for this more competitive subset of users.
I know I don't like shooting double digits under par consistently.
What's the value of making a birdie if it is the norm?
If you would like something more formal I would be more than happy to provide you my full thoughts on the topic.
