Thanks for taking a moment to share your experience with PGA Tour and feedback on shot behavior.
We love to see the feedback and will continue to pass what you share on to the team. I did want to share some information to try and help improve your game and make shots more consistent.
First, we have some deep dives created by the team to break down Shot Types and the Pure Strike technology used in EA Sports PGA Tour. Along with that, the team has made several adjustments with each patch released, you can find patch information on our board.
Hopefully, the information above can help improve your game. If you do continue to see inconsistency with your shots let us know the following.

I remember the 90's and your bada$$ games that came out for SEGA GENESIS like ROAD RASH and BLOCKOUT and if memory serves PEBBLE BEACH GOLF LINKS!!
In PBGL there was harsh wind and RAIN, we had to play through rain!!
Here is what I just did at Pebble Beach on your competitor's golf game with the settings on BOTH games the same (easiest).
On your version, by the middle of the second round I was at PLUS 10!
Look what I did on the 2K SPORTS PGA 2K23...

Here's a shot that I will NEVER get to make on EA PGA....
But I made it tonight on 2K SPORTS PGA...

@EA_IlliumThe problem is not about improving our gameplay... the gameplay is too easy as it is. You can easily score ridiculously low using just 6 of the 20 shot types.
The main complaints I am hearing are about the inconsistency in the game because of the RNG. Where the ball doesn't even end up in the dispersion zone on what appears to be a well struck shot.
I appreciate you taking the time to interact with us showing that you are in touch with what's going on in the forum.
I just wish that each released patch showed that we were moving in the right direction.
We are getting some bug fixes, which introduce new bugs... but the core gameplay is the same. Nothing is being done to improve the actual experience of the game.
Okay... I grant you the changes in the cup physics was positive step. But it was needed and should have been addressed before the games release. And what was done is still pretty broken...
Again thanks for posting... it at least lets us know there is someone in the void listening, though it doesn't seem you are empowered to do anything. There is a small level of comfort in that.I’d even say all you need as far as shot types are the drive, approach, pitch and putt… blast as well out of bunkers even if it is so poor. So that’s 5 shot types
HELLO!!
I have updates!! After some long sessions and getting a bunch of SPECS and SKILLS I can now win a few here and there. However, the putting continues to be sub-par at best (pardon the pun!). In some courses a 15 foot putt will follow the trajectory I set up while in others it is still a crap-shoot. I use the trajectory indicator as a reference for where I don't want the ball to go because it is NEVER RIGHT! In some instances I have totally missed a three foot straight putt either short or wide left or right. But the shots that take the cake...OMG...the ones where I clearly have hit the ball hard enough and yet it perfectly balances on the rim of the cup!! This happens at least three times per round if not more!! If I can be this consistent making those damned rim shots (insert sarcasm here) then the rest of the game should be a walk in the park!!

MORE EVIDENCE THAT EA's GAME IS SCREWED UP!!! This just now, not 10 minutes ago!! 8 yards to the hole, set the strength for 4 yards and the ball ends up SEVEN yards BELOW the hole!! FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT ALREADY!!!!!
@EA_Illium I’m not even a professional and I 1 million percent could have had valuable input that would have made this game much better. Spin is off in some instances, distances with various shot types is off, cup physics are poor, customisation is lacking, the store lacks items, the game also lacks control such as being able to adjust dynamic loft or attack angle
