Thanks for taking a moment to share your experience with PGA Tour and feedback on shot behavior.
We love to see the feedback and will continue to pass what you share on to the team. I did want to share some information to try and help improve your game and make shots more consistent.
First, we have some deep dives created by the team to break down Shot Types and the Pure Strike technology used in EA Sports PGA Tour. Along with that, the team has made several adjustments with each patch released, you can find patch information on our board.
Hopefully, the information above can help improve your game. If you do continue to see inconsistency with your shots let us know the following.

@EA_IlliumThe problem is not about improving our gameplay... the gameplay is too easy as it is. You can easily score ridiculously low using just 6 of the 20 shot types.
The main complaints I am hearing are about the inconsistency in the game because of the RNG. Where the ball doesn't even end up in the dispersion zone on what appears to be a well struck shot.
I appreciate you taking the time to interact with us showing that you are in touch with what's going on in the forum.
I just wish that each released patch showed that we were moving in the right direction.
We are getting some bug fixes, which introduce new bugs... but the core gameplay is the same. Nothing is being done to improve the actual experience of the game.
Okay... I grant you the changes in the cup physics was positive step. But it was needed and should have been addressed before the games release. And what was done is still pretty broken...
Again thanks for posting... it at least lets us know there is someone in the void listening, though it doesn't seem you are empowered to do anything. There is a small level of comfort in that.
I’d even say all you need as far as shot types are the drive, approach, pitch and putt… blast as well out of bunkers even if it is so poor. So that’s 5 shot types
