was the swing difficulty changed?
all of a sudden i'm no longer hitting the ball straight all the time. its showing my stick movement all over the place on some shots and i'm slicing it left and right. Did they make it more sensi...

I'm on the PS5 as well, and have had this issue from the tee box since the game was released, mainly from the tee box. I blame it on the RNG in the game, and the fact that I don't feel the dispersion zone is correctly represented.
Things do het a lot better as you level up your characters, depending where you spend your skill points and your selection on specs.
I also noticed that if you underswing it also keeps the ball more on line. At least it does for me.
I have also seen some really poor swing paths go dead straight from the tee box. I guess when you are teeing off andcthe dispersion zone is showing pretty much the width of the fairway it actually can go just about anywhere.
@ELF014 i leveled up to the "gold" rank (7or 8 depending on which one) on each accuracy, driver, approach and short game and ive played around with higher stats on each and it makes ZERO difference.
- @ragingsaint I am also in the gold on my skills in those areas and I just got the new iron spec from completing the free pro pass and I still have balls coming off the club head in all different directions even though my swing meter shows a straight up and down shot. I have no problem if they are making the swing more difficult but not if the RNG is still active.
I would be happy to do some testing for you. If you can tell me which hole on what course... under which conditions.

I have multiple characters... one from when I first started playing the game that is fully maxed skillwise for accuracy.. and spec'd the same way. And the second a base character with no skill points assign and no specs.
My max character is consistently a much straighter ball striker... as well as having better distance control.
