@agentputtwhat is it about the swing mechanic you don't like?
Can you even explain exactly how the swing mechanic works?
I tested the new patch this week... it is about the only time I play the game anymore. Because the game lacks any real challenge I play SIM settings with any additional aids disabled... I also play without any skill points or specs. So a stock 67 character.
I hit PERFECT/PERFECT timed shots with what feels like, and confirmed by the swing meter dead straight shots on the swing meter. And yet the ball is nowhere near where the ball was aimed.
This is my baseline for any game, if you execute a perfect shot you should expect a near perfect result. And because we and golf are not perfect I don't mind a small amount of RNG introduced into the game.
I am a big proponent of RNG, but if this is their idea of how it should be implemented, you have me shaking my head.
And don't tell me once you level-up things will be as they should. You should be rewarded or punished for the execution of your shots. Leveling up should only make it easier to do.
I have hit perfect shots that land nowhere where they should, and terribly timed shots with a swing plane that resembles a reverse "C" and have a drive go dead straight down the fairway.
The gameplay is awful, the putting doesn't feel right either, besides the terrible physics around the cup the ball just rolls funny. All the greens feel slow and sticky...
And to answer your question, a lot of people have gone back to 2K. You can tell by participation that no one is playing tournaments or their on-line modes.
People may think everything in this game plays great, but have you ever thought that those of you still playing might be in the minority?
That those criticizing the game trying to get it to a better place are the majority and want to see the game survive? That competition in the market only drives innovation for both games?
