Will EA Sports PGA Tour for PC require the Origin launcher in addition to Steam?

Hi @cdmattax To confirm we have moved to a new launcher with the EA App client. You can find more information about it here.

When it comes to playing EA games on other platforms, many of our games need to be connected to the EA App for reasons like licenses, friends list, connecting to online features, etc.

While we are working on improving the experience with EA App if you do run into technical issues or have feedback about changes you would like to see. You can post on our EA App boards.

Yes you will need the EA launcher. Says so right in Steam.

And a great concern this is!
The new EA App Launcher is a buggy mess. There is a huge number of people that can't get some of their previous EA Origin paid for games to launch at all since EA made the move from Origin to this new app. Read the EA support forums and you'll see that for the past many months this has been a problem and EA doesn't seem to be concerned about (or is simply unable to fix?) the fact that people can't play the games they have previously purchased. I have some games that launch successfully and others that I cannot get to launch anymore despite trying every troubleshooting suggestion I could find on the forums or on youtube.
Here is to hoping that EA PGA Tour will be thoroughly tested to make sure it will launch successfully for everyone through this new app!

If one needs the EA App/Launcher anyhow, why buy it in Steam?
