Worst courses to putt on....

Torrey Pines and Evian are the 2 worst courses to putt on, the lines are WAY off on both of them

you (EA) need to fix the nonsense in this game, and fast before it totally goes downhill

I actually don't have issues with the putting on any of the courses. I think they are pretty consistent. My only issue is mainly with the roll overs in some cases, and the odd lip out that feels like it should have gone in.

But I would agree that it appears that some courses have much more receptive cup physics. Those being the ones with less break in them. I seldom play these courses..  but we played St Andrews last night and both of us where dropping putts consistently from beyond 20 feet.

  • Yea i think putting is pretty consistent as well, and the preview line is just a guideline anyways as you never know which speed/distance the ai used to calculate that line.

It's just that some greens tend to mess me up and i misread even shorter puts - at least that's my perception of things, i wouldn't guarantee there isn't something off / different with certain cups.

The rollovers are a bit painful at times though, last time i played i had one that went in and then literally clipped out again to follow it's path for another 4 or so ft as if it never went in at all. And when i write that the ball "clipped", that's what i mean, it didn't jump out or anything but clipped through the edge of the hole.

I think putting is pretty decent overall except for the rollovers, which seem to happen randomly no matter how hard or soft you hit the ball. I even gave Evian another go during my current career and on every green anxiously waited for something weird to happen but it never really did.

One thing I have noticed though, and am curious if anyone else is noticing it, is that a lot of putts, both uphill and downhill are coming up short (and before anyone says anything, I do know how to calculate the putts), and feel like I have to place the marker even further past the hole than I used to. I have noticed a distinct slow down as they approach the hole and come to a stop agonizingly close to dropping in. Even downhill putts are sometimes coming up much shorter than one would expect when struck correctly. I don't know if wind affects putts in this game, at least I have never noticed it before.

As for the preview I never use it so my misses are my own. I do wish they would turn the preview off in the tournament modes. It just distracts me.

I don't play nearly as much as I did when the game was released before I maxed out my character. During this period I had a pretty good feel for putt weight, always leaving the ball about a foot from the hole. Well with the exception of extreme uphill putts. Though I knew how much further I needed to hit the ball I just could never convince myself to do it.

I added this as background information, because unlike youself I'm finding my putts are rolling a little more than I expect when I do play.
