I’m on level 9 of the tomb tangler event. And I have tried twice. Both times it has sent me to the picking plants screen. And there are no empty plant squares. The only thing there is the locked square. But clicking on it does nothing. When I hit let’s rock it starts the level. But there are no plants there to use. There are only 2 electrical plants on the board itself. And they aren’t even the tomb tangler plant.

I'm on level 14 and have restarted the game along with multiple tries, however I still am unable to choose plants for the tomb tangler event. I saw someone had a problem earlier but still no resolution??
In the current Tomb Tangled event, I played all the way to level9 as those levels are pretty easy, but once I reach level 9 I am unable to select any plants.
I have heard from the live support that it is a bug. What should I do now? May people get some compensations as I was stuck and not able to complete the event due to this bug.
Ok so a work around I have found. It will cost coins. But it worked. I hit the reload button over and over. And it finally highlighted the rentable square. Pay the rental fee and then choose the electric plant that is already there on the play area. It will be your only plant. But it will be enough if you stay on top of putting them on the board as soon as the sun drops enough to put one down. And keep them at the front half of the board.
it happened again to me at level 14. But the same work around did the trick. This way you can finish the event. Sometimes random banging on the screen can help. Lol

I gave your method a try but sadly the event remains hidden... maybe I have not hit the screen hard enough.... hmmm, where did I put my hammer? 👿
Now that I don’t know how to make it work. I hope they figure out that particular issue soon. I’m sorry you don’t get to play the event.
Yea this works. Thanks for the solution! But note that you will want to hit slightly above the reload button as there is a hidden button for renting plant slot above the reload button. You may see the button in other levels, it is just hidden for this level. So u will want to hit slightly above the reload button to hit the renting plant slot button.
