Can't log in with my Google play account on which my whole progress was saved

So I was playing this game from a long time ago , completed it and then left for some time . I did come back to playing it a few times but not for long , so recently I downloaded the game again and find out I can log in via Google play , and my whole progress was stored there , is there anything I can do to log back in with Google play?

Also then I tap on the controller button in the main menu I am only available to see my achievements but can't log in
