@HenryThePear High mastery requires different strategy as the plants are way over power and kill the zombies too quickly, this creates lots of 'no zombie' gaps thus resulting ZDL drops.
I am literally only planting one row of torchwood and 3 pea...and with my level 7 plants, its demolishing everything so i score below 3 million...... still have yet to go over that... sigh....
@Perfume-shroom92 You can try replacing the Threepeater with something less powerful or try not putting Pea Vine on the Torchwood but with an extra column of pea Vine instead, anyway, I am sure you can find the ideal balance to your level 7 plants and break 3M barrier before the tournament ends.
I tried and failed to break 3.4M pre-boosterama but with the additional power, this is now achieved. 👿
Week227 tournament.
My level 8 plants have now joined the 50M club.
My level 8 profile has reached 1000 crowns and the best I have for this tournament is 52M. (Actually, with the new high score cap introduced recently to Jade league, I think 50M is almost a guarantee win)
In past, the maximum score cap was set at 20M, what this means is for almost 99% of the time the system managed to filter out recordings from players score which are above 20M.
This ensures scores from super easy to progressively difficult in the win streaks from 1 to 9 for all players. (that is the reason if you lose a game and not paying gems to keep the streak, it is reset and you are back to a state where you will be matched against a super easy score again.
The table below was produced by a forum member from subreddit (EuphoricSeaweed) this helps to illustrate the differenced of the high score cap before and after the 9.5.1 update.

Week 229 pre-boosterama Pea Vine Tournament
This is an Appeasemint week and half of the setup has been done for us, it is also one of those rare tournament where the featured plant is actually being used extensively on all strategies.
I started with Bowling Bulbs but found sometimes I got overran towards the end so naturally I have to use a more powerful combo of Threepeater+Touchwood enhanced by Pea Vine. Managed to get my L8 profile into the 16M club. 👿

I believe you for I know 17M is possible with mid level plants.
(in fact one of my old friend, a well respected long-time PVZ2 player, managed to break 18M with his M200 plants)
He might have but I have not seen his posting, this was from someone else used to host his high score on YouTube but had taken along break from PVZ2 and has only returned recently.
Finally made it to the 18m club, only to find mrs @eieio_31310 swinging from the chandelier.
Week 230 pre-boosterama -- Threepeater tournament
My level 8 profile has put all my mastery profiles to shame on this tournament.
Thanks @HenryThePear . I have had quite a few low 5M+ games and 5.5M is just a lucky RNG.
This is the best i could manage in boosterama.
At least I'm in the 5 million club. (With it's pre-nibbled jaffa cakes).
@MAGICDAVESHROOM Welcome the the 5M club with a creative strategy, and as usual, to get a high score, the feature plant is not being used! 👿
I think this tournament is all about balance, you need to be able to kill the zombies quickly to raise ZDL but not by excessive force which creates gaps with no zombies to kill. I have seen level 5 and level 6 plants breaking 6M and even 7M with Boosterama. Currently I am trying to focus on Penny's and Pinata Parties to get my Threepeaters to high mastery to match my TorchWood, will give your load out a try later this afternoon.
@eieio_31310. I have also tried gumnut, Magnetshroom, olive pit and spring bean.
I don't think chard guard made any difference to the score.
My usual strategy in boosterama is to imp the zombies then kill the imps asap.
I have had 3 goes before the new practice starts and the best I get is 4.8M with your strategy. Guess my timing is not optimized.
This is my best so far, scored as low as 2m but usually scores 2.5m.

Could Tile Turnip be used to double up the Imp Pear power and bringing higher score?

Using draftodil slows the waves down.
Tried a few different combos (except blover) and this is the best so far.
