I DID give EA my original player ID. And I DID force sync as instructed because I registered my email. The one who handled my case said that he still couldn't restore my progress and offered me the tiny compensation, which he said was the maximum that EA was willing to give. I thought registering my email and verifying it was foolproof?
If you have your original player id that is associated with the profile you want to restore then EA should be able to recover the data from their backups, i suggest you keep on at them until they do restore your profile.

When I woke up, this same issue happend also me...
start game and no my default user name in game, just user called "1" and user called "" no name... thats all. I click on user "1" and game start from begining... I play this game from 2013 - and lost everything.
Trying find ID - but when I send all ID I found in my device to EA, they reply - this ID have just this... after 7 emails EA confirmed they had issue with servers... in every email is silly offer 250.000 coins, 600 gems and 25 tickets... but not serious answer where is problem and how long take it for fix it...and this is terrible.... I lost hope for that EA will fix this - probably waiting for release pvz3 on other devices ...
for me pvz 2 game is dead.. congratulation EA

Unless you have your ORIGINAL player id number OR have an old copy of pvz2 on a different device OR registered your email address with EA before the crash, about all you can do is try and get EA HELP to try to take the trouble to look it up so they can reinstall your profile.
There will be a copy of your profile stored in EA's servers somewhere but without the correct account number they won't be able to find it.
If you search through the forums you will find many other players in the same situation.

- 6 years ago@MAGICDAVESHROOM I have registered email on pvz2 - but only answer I get from EA is just waiting, we ar try fix it... and sorry 14 days? Okay, maybe we can wait another 2 years when EA will make new PvZ5 ... :D
this is not serious answer from serious company.

EA's customer support has hit new lows recently, if you have your original player i.d. number then try tapping HELP CENTER at the bottom of the page and try complaining (again).
