I used the wrong email to verify my account, can I change it?

So on PVZ2 I decided to save my game progress by registering an email. Unfortunately, I used an email that wasn't connected to my current EA games account. I HAD NO IDEA THAT REGISTRING THIS EMAIL WOULD CREATE A NEW EA ACCOUNT. IT DIDNT EVEN SUGEST TO USE A PRE-EXISTING ACCOUNT EMAIL OR TO LOG IN. I received a confirmation email with a code to verify the email so I put it in. Then I got an email with a link that sent me to the EA account sign in page and it wants me to make a new password and confirm my EA ID but I don't want to make a new account. I want to attach my game progress to a pre existing account. It's even more frustrating because I wanted to change my old email on my pre-existing account to this new email but now I need to jump through extra hoops because the account is already "verified". It doesn't make sense to me why a functioning account can verified with an email address ONLY. You cant even log into the account that is "verified" because THERE IS NO PASSWORD.

Does anyone know if there's any way for me to be able to either (delete the new account, keep the progress on my phone, then link it to my old account) or use my other email to verify my account)? If you arent able to help, do you know anyone else who I could talk to that could possibly help me?

To reiterate I didn't verify my EA ID, or make a new password for an EA account and I still have the email that can get me to that page. Also I have a google play account but I'm not sure if the game progress is backed up.

  • As far as I know, once you have put in the code to verify (you are the owner of) the account, the current game saved progress is then tied to that email address.  

    Please DO NOT delete this new account or your current progress will be gone for good!

    There is nothing you as a player can do to change the verified account's email link, only the advisor with administrative right to the game server can perform this task but (and this is a BIG BUT) there is a build in player account transfer protection (to prevent matured account trading) so I am not sure how helpful the advisor can be in your situation.  You could try reaching out to the Help Center by following the link at the bottom of this page but please be aware this might be a long and fruitless process.
