Its definitely possible to win without any premium plants! I have none myself and I am in gold league 🙂 if you look around here at the level 1 forum or the mid level ones, people should start posting pics of the strategies sometime soon. Take a few tips here and there and make use of the practice 🙂 other than that, there are also lots of videos on youtube with different strategies. Obviously some players would have max out plants or premium (but there are also non premium ones) but its about learning what type of plants to bring in and to develop a good style that suits you :D
