I thought I'd start up a forum within a forum for level 1 plants. No, i haven't been eating magicdaveshrooms but level1 plants are more challenging and of course nobody has an advantage from level...
@HenryThePear Actually, I have played a few games just now and found 1.5M is good enough for 7 wins, so with high level plants, one would find this week's tournament very easy. 👿
I get what you mean, i think it's probably a bug🐛, take advantage of it while you can.
Our glorious leader Eieio the barbarian scored over 12m by using Magnetshroom to pull helmets off knights created by zombie kings which gave him an adjusted score of 127m+ on the old leaderboard with level 1plants!
There's a video on utube showing him doing 9m using this tactic.

Haha! I'll see if i can find that video. I just took advantage of this bug...Getting those sweet "double points" of the Knight Zombies using Snap Pea before blowing everything up with Bombard-Mint got me a new Highscore. And it only took one Yeti. But to be honest, I think this has to be fixed!

Hahahahahhaha! Thank you! That made my day. Sap-Fling in Battlez. Must have been an awesome tournament: Bring your weakest plants and Magnet-Shroom. Guess it was even worse back then 🙂

I ask because I did over 30 matches last weekend using the same loadout and could not get any near 1M not to mention the 1.45M reference set by you, so I put this down to my plant placement and plant food timing.
I then further tested this set of loadout using mid-level plants and high level plants, I could break 1.5M and 1.7M only once respectively out of 100 or so matches and at this point I even noticed a few sequences of zombie waves.
I then went back to play 20 more matches using level 1 plants but the highest I managed was only 1.2M. So I am hoping you can elucidate what was the secret for getting that 1.45 score please?

Actually my highest score was even 1.5M 🙂 I have to say I played over 150 matches. But as soon as I found out about the "double scoring" my average was 1.3M. There was a REALLY nice sequence once you figured it out. It was Plant Food on Bombard-Mint, Plant Food on Bombard-Mint (chicken/yeti with new Plant Food ran in => plant hypno shroom), Plant Food on Snap Pea (you get two more Plant Foods from the spinning guys + a lot of knights were there => double score with Snap Pea). Then repeat. Occasionally take out one knight before you use Bombard-Mint.
EDIT2: Oh I forgot, after you plant your first (or second I don't know anymore) Bombard-Mint you could place a PPM in the most right column (middle) taking out all the zombies from the next wave cause of the boost
EDIT: A tip: In your old youtube videos you used drag&drop to plant plants. It is so much faster to "click and plant". Takes some time to get used to but it is so much better. If you haven't already changed that you might want to give it a try.
Thanks @PowerToss for the explanation and the tips.
Wow 1.5M wish I have more time to play that Battlez again.
Yes there was a sequence where I can predict the pattern of zombie waves and the appearance of the chicken/Yeti, and from your explanation, now I know where I have missed.
If you recall certain zombies were worth way more than they should have been, around 10x so would have been a considerable boost to anyone's score, it didn't happen to me but i think it was in the main battlez thread.
