Lost all PVZ2 progress

My son was playing PVZ2 (in the zen garden) on his android tablet when it froze up.  He thinks it may have run out of battery while it was frozen.  It unfroze when he plugged it in.  BUT, when he went back to PvZ2, all his data was missing.  He has had the game since it was from PopCap, and doesn't have an EA account and was not on Google+.  I found something online about copying some files to my desktop and reloading, but one of the file folders involved appears to not exist on his device.

Any help would be appreciated.  We've tried the basic stuff: power cycling the tablet, closing other apps, etc.

    Hi @smh53103

    If no account was logged into (EA / Google+ etc) then I'm afraid the progress would be lost if it's not showing in the app any more.

    The only way to retrieve it would be through signing back into the account that was previously used but obviously that won't be possible in this case.

    I just had a very similar thing on iOS. I've tried tweeting at EA, sending e-mail directly, going to the help site, nothing is working to get a response.

    Is there some way I can get my money back? I'm thinking I can put together itemised receipts of the money I've spent on the product, but now that it has glitched and destroyed everything I paid for, well then you shouldn't be keeping that money.

    Please respond with how I can request a refund.

    Please force close the app and restart it several times as it sometimes helps. Please also double-check that you are not logged into an alternative account.

    If the issue persists after that, you will need to contact the support team directly so they can have a look at your accounts. 

    To to so, simply fill out this form and select Technical support / Game progress issues.

    Please include in your message the Player ID that you will find in the main menu: Go to settings then tap on "Build Version" and you will see your player ID.
