I see they have brought back all of the fila mints. Did I miss something or is the only way to get mints is from battlez. It will take a lot longer to get 400 mints playing battlez than the fila mints will be available. I need at least 400 to upgrade any of them.

You have not missed anything. At present the only way of acquiring Power Mints is through playing Battlez, and getting far enough into a streak to win any of them.
Maybe this will change at some point in the future. Perhaps once all of the proposed Mint Plants have had an airing they will make the Power Mints a purchasable item for Gems and/or hard cash.
Assuming such a day does come, I for one dread to think what scale of charges would be imposed. Perhaps it will be something like the kind of extreme rip-off charge we were faced with where it cost 25 gems to get a mere 10 Shadow Peashooter seed packets? Just imagine how much it would cost in real terms to first of all purchase and to then take just one mint plant to level ten under such circumstances.

Extremel;y long win streaks give players huge multiples so that they can obtain mints much faster !!
Very unfair reward system since you must spend quite a bit of money !!
I guess that is EA's pouint/goal.

How far into upgrading plants were you before the penny dropped?
I learned it from you. The money part I figured out before BattleZ existed and I resisted spending for that reason. I played on BlueStacks for too many years before migrating to a Smartphone and regret it dearly now. My plants would be near or at the max if I had always used a Smartphone. Heavy sigh.
