No Random Gem Drops. Ever. Literally Zero.

I downloaded PvZ 2 on launch day. I stopped playing for a while, but picked it back up again a few months ago. Since I resumed play, I have not had a single gem drop from a zombie. I have played many hours over the course of several months and bought all in-app purchase items (except premium plants that cost gems). I have beaten all levels and hundreds of rounds of Endless Mode in all worlds. I have seen videos and read accounts of people who have hundreds of gems because they drop regularly, and I have never had a single one drop. I've sent messages requesting help in the past, but have received no reply. I recently found the Answer HQ, so I'm trying my luck here. I just want to play the game as everyone else does. Help!

I've heard from others who have the same problem. If you are experiencing this bug, post here so we can get this solved.

EDIT: I guess I should specify that I am on an iPhone 5 with up-to-date iOS. The PvZ app is also up-to-date.

    Does anyone know if customer support or any other game representatives check this forum? I've tried every avenue I can find to report this issue but have never received a response.

    I honestly have no idea, I just attempted putting something up in the slight hope they might.  Someone official posted a thing in here at least, but that was more like a locked ad than anything useful. =/  I also sent the customer service an email through the help option in game and the support page it took me to, but idk if that will ever be seen or responded to either.... =<  I hope your issue gets fixed though, it sucks when you miss out on the gem plants!  Like the Sweet Potato and the Hurrikale, and best yet, the Ghost Pepper.... D=

    I think it's a save/account issue, rather than a problem with the app or the operating environment. As a test, I created a second profile. I had 3 gems drop from zombies within the first few minutes of playing on the new profile. I have all the IAP , which will transfer between profiles, but the Ghost Pepper on my original profile will not. Otherwise I would just use the new profile. I like my Ghost Pepper too much to lose it!

    Ive been searching for ways to earn more gems and I hear a lot of people talk about playing endless modes to get them, but I personally have played hundreds of endless mode levels and have never received a single gem. I only get them from quests or watching ads, and the ad thing only gives a reward once out of 7 or 8 ads for me. If the circle timer doesn't move, I get no reward. coins or gems or gauntlets. very time consuming. It seemed to work so much better before I started spending real money to purchase a few plants and packages.

    I am a bit confused. Circle-timer? Endless = gems?

    I never heard of that before, but I don't do endless so may be missing out on some things.

    If there was some rare premium as an award or something, THEN things would get interesting.

    The gem drop stopped a loooong time ago.

    Currently there are only coins and Sprouts.....

    Not so loud damnit! EA thought they already had cut coins & sprouts out! 🙂

    But now we have ads so we can get more gems, yeeeeeah we love watching ads 🥳
    The only way to use sprouts at some point is just to get coins out of it...
