This usually happens when you don't have an internet connection. If you have an active internet connection and the issue persists, try restarting the game.

EA told me it could do nothing about resetting the Pinata clock and I had to wait 29 days for mine to count down !!
I hope they are willing to help you out. Be persistent and insistent.
