sorry you lost your profile. There are a lot of players that lost their profile in the last two weeks. Here is the official statement from a community manager posted on Feb 6th on reddit:
To me it looks like that when you opened your game on your iPad it synced your corrupted progress to your Apple account and this is why you only see 4 plants and 0 coins.
Do you by any chance have iCloud backup enabled or use iTunes to make a backup of your device? Settings -> Passwords&Accounts -> iCloud -> iCoud Backup (on). If so, you might have a backup of your iPad in which your PvZ2 progress was saved.
If you don't have any backup of your device you can only hope that EA can fix the issue, find your progress on their servers and restore it.
@PowerTossI tried the restore an old backup of 2019 in December that will not fix it also! So restoring your iPhone or iDevice back does no good! Nor does iCloud restore.

@tommystarman I'm not exactly sure why it doesn't work because as far as I know it should. When you restore your phone from a backup it should have all the "old" PvZ2 files.
Did you sign in with your email address after you opened the App (EA account)? Because if you do this your corrupted profile will be downloaded from the EA server again. Maybe I can help if you post the steps you did after you restored your device from the backup.

@PowerTossIt was immediate, when the new tournament after 2pm easter time, when I went to play after that it reopened the game on it's own and changed my name from ToMmY to some odd name, and after restoring my iPhone back from my December 2019 backup from iTunes, it did the same thing, said I had 2 identities, When I gave ea games before this they claimed my ID doesn't exist and no game play or data was on their end, over the course of 4 or 5 months I made 12 purchases for plants and various other stuff, now I'm at a loss, I've tried reinstalling and deleting the game 20 times, still no luck, I read others got data back and I've read others stating ea games restored their full profile to no data loss, they made me offers of leveled up plants but as soon as I reply a new foreign agent takes over? smh I feel like I wasted 55 dollars usd! And yes I registered my game with my email address and gave them that also and proof of it and screenshots I had taken of my wins and a lot of plants and mints, for example my bombardmint was level 7, goldbloom level 7, I already had all seasonal's completed fully leveled up as far as they'd go, now all my paid plants are level one so I deleted the game again. Seems they are just scamming me now with the same we're sorry crap! And I even gave them the score and time it happened on my battle, I have been in Jade league for 6 months and always came in 4th and above, many weeks I was always first place. And the email address was attached when I registered my account and got the free 100 gems. I tried to play it but now I get the nagging message upgrade your plants and it interferes with all game play! I feel they should refund my money for all my paid plants and compensate for the almost 2 years of game play I put into this, I was a player I had well over 1100 gauntlets! Look at this weeks tournament and that wasn't even my highest score. take notice to my level of those plants ☹️

@tommystarman I still don't completely understand why it's not working...since your progress is saved locally on your device. So if you have an old backup from 2019 this backup should theoretically contain the progress you had at that point. Only if you are connected to the internet this progress file will be overwritten. I might be wrong but in theory and from my understanding of backups this should work.
- Connect your device to your computer
- Open iTunes and restore your phone from the old backup of 2019
- Turn off internet connection (Airplane mode and WiFi turned off)
- Open the PvZ2 App
You should now have the profile you had in 2019.
