I am playing on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2018, 10.5) with Android 10 and i ve got the same issue. After starting pvz2 I am only able to click one or two times and then the game freeze completely. Cleared the cache. Stopped the app and doing a restart of the device. Nothing helped. I don't deinstalled pvz2 because I know it doesn't help. The fault is on your side, because deinstalling doesn't helped with the calendar issue from June to July. I deinstalled pvz2 3 times a week and it doesn't fixed it until a new update was released.
It's really sad to miss so much progress during the actual freezing issue.
I Have the same issue, my Galaxy tab was completely unplayable after the last update, what i wrong with this game, there always something wrong with this game.

UPDATE:
I dont deinstalled pvz2 and reinstalled it.
I just deleted app cache and data.
After Tutorial i logged in with my registered email adress (cloud settings)and receiving the validation code
i was able to restore my account.
Everything works fine now!

I have a couple of pop cap games but since I updated my computer all of the games says that I have to contact the developer to update it. Is there a way around it?
