This is a problem created by the new IOS, I have iPhones and and seen iPads working correctly because they are still running earlier version of IOS.
No doubt EA will get PopCap to work on the App in future updates so that it remains playing music with the new IOS.

I have absolutely no idea, all I know is that they made an attempt on fixing it on the previous update and failed, now I too have no music on my iPhone which is running earlier IOS.
Guess EA/PopCap is trying to make all IOS user feeling equal... ☹️
PVZ 2 Music is working again on iOS 15.2
A few days ago, I noticed that the game’s music is back!
There are some worlds that still do not play music like Frostbite Caves, Lost City, Far Future, Jurassic Marsh, and Modern Day. The other word’s soundtracks are working perfectly.
Yeah its in Ancient Egypt, Pirate Seas and Wild West also in the boss music and the wave music plays for a few seconds.
