same thing happen to be me at level 66 (that was a few days ago though)
today it crashed while loading the pinata party and my profile/save is wiped out. Kinda sucks to have accumulated almost a million coins and half a million gems and bought most of the premium plants to have it just yanked away like that.
what good is a game that's saved to EA's servers if glitches like that happens. Had something similar happen to Simpson's Tapped Out and completely stopped playing that one. No way was I going to restart at the beginning. Same thing will happen with PvZ 2 if I can't get my save back.

If your TSTO game was saved with an Origin account, there is a way to recover it. First, make sure you are not simply playing anonymously again. If this is the case, just play through the game until it will let you sign into Origin. If you are signed into Origin, and still back at level one, you will need to contact EA support for assistance with this issue. This forum is for players to help other players, but of course we don't have access to your account.

It was and the problem was with the Origin syncing. For whatever reason, it just wouldn't sync properly. It showed me as signed into my Origin account but my profile was still not there. That was almost 2 years ago though. I gave up on TO and deleted it from my devices and migrated to PvZ2 since it came out when that problem happen so it's a little late to go back to TO.
I know why this happens, but that doesn't help fix the problem. I put in a support ticket:
In icebound battleground, I have managed to get permanently stuck with a level that will not end. I believe it happened because of the way that you stage zombies off screen before they become visible. What I believe happened is that a Troglobite was pushing a bunch of frozen Yeti Imps when they ran into a lane change tile. When that happens the Troglobite continues walking leaving the Imps behind. Then what I believe happened is another Troglobite came along with his load of frozen Imps. It got stopped by the other frozen Imps with some still off screen. The Troglobite left them, got killed and now all of the other zombies are dead except whatever frozen Imps are off screen. No weapons continue off the screen to thaw them out. I planted flaming pea shooters in the last column but they are unable to thaw the off screen Imps. There is no way to resign. So I am stuck permanently on this level. Maybe the Imps should thaw after a time if nothing pushes them onto the screen.
The solution to this bug is to crash your phone or tablet. While on this level, press the power button (or power button/home button combo - whatever works) to restart your phone/tablet. When the phone/tablet reboots and you restart plants-vs-zombies, it will restart the level at the beginning due to the crash. I had to restart a couple times before the program interpreted it as a crash for some reason. Hope this helps.
