Here is what I do:

1. Start with 6 Moonflowers, 5 Shadow Pea, and 5-6 Mines in the most right column

2. Try to replace a mine as soon as it is charged

4. Use Bombard-Mint when PPM recharged and directly plant a PPM in the most right column (middle)

5. Use Plant Food on Bombard-Mint whenever PPM recharged and repeat step 4

Edit: When you find a good spot for a PPM plant it without using Bombard-Mint beforehand. Than you have a Bombard-Mint PPM combo for the last seconds!

I couldn't reproduce the 1.4M score within 12 games but I got 1.2M and 1.3M. You need to make sure that no plant gets eaten. Occasionally plant Toadstool to pick out some zombies (yellow zone). I think the round has to start with buckethead zombies...the ice block pushing guys are just to slow. The 1.4M might be a game with a RNG you get once in every 50 games.

I felt your pain, as I have gotten 2 mints to L5 and 1 to L3, and 1 Level 1. It was a real grind 😆

I currently running 6 active profiles, so for me this will be 2x L1, 1x level 3, and 3x level 5 enlighten-mints to get.  so my next three weekends are fully booked.

Just a small improvement: I started to not plant SP at the beginning. It makes the early game too slow. Instead I plant more mines and try to trigger necromancy by killing the zombies early with Toadstool if there is no mine. In addition, try to save the last Bombard-Mint PPM combo for the final seconds.

I've also noticed that sometimes MoonFlowers give SUN at the start and other times it can take 5 or 10 seconds before there is any SUN...

Or even longer, i once planted a concealmint and 5 moonflowers gave off no sun until concealmint had gone.

Yeah, same for me! Moon Flowers are not that reliable 🙂

I haven't figured out what exactly trigger necromancy. Sometime it comes super early and sometime it takes forever. I just plant Toadstool in front of one of the "early" zombies and hope it gets triggered.

There had been sun production issue a while back and it was fixed, maybe the recent introduction of the BS plant -- Enlighten-mint breaks it again.  I too experienced your issue.

Heavy heavy sigh.

So the best chance for the highest scores is most likely when SUN is produced ASAP...otherwise expect to just play out the match.

Yep, could be. But I remember having issues with MS right before Enlighten-Mint was introduced as well. Maybe that's what is meant with "Sun Production: Variable" in the Almanac :D

BTW: Are you guys going for the 100 gems Quest with your Level 1 profile? I've beaten all the expansion levels with L1 plants and I don't know if I want to go through them again. The Ancient Egypt one was okay but as far as I can recall there were some tough levels in pirate sea expansion.

Doubt it.

Ditto.  I have thousands of GEMs already in my Level 1 profile with little need to even spend any !!

150 crowns is achievable with FREE plays and the daily adverts for Gauntlets and my Gauntlet resource has been increasing, not declining, so I have not even had to purchase Gauntlets with GEMs !!!

The levels are a challenge and a few I had to complete via Power Buttons and First Strike capability from Zen Garden (or use GEMs to gain First Strike)

True. I have thousands of gems as well. Still hoping for EA to release some of the premium plants for high amounts of gems 🙂 I'm done for this tournament and here are two highlights:

Level 1 failure as I misused Plant Food too early and was surpassed at the end...turns out we had the exact same plant selection !!

I have done the 1st one and will be doing this one as well.  Just not so sure I will do the Wild West as the last level is luck base (unless you are using coins to buy the wins which I dislike)

I totally agree! I was lucky that somehow I manage to kill the Zomboss without him even getting to the second phase. He just stood there taking damage from my Gargantuars until he died :D Happens once within 50 tries...

The Boosterama is so much fun! I don't think Caulipower will work here. Was able to almost double my score in the practice games. Still looking for a strategy to break 3M...

@PowerToss   This looks to be a very good score.

Try Enchant-mint in place of Snap Pea as Toadstool is boosted !!  Might get you to 3M score...

Enchant-Mint? Ok, I will try that. But I think you have to get lucky to hypnotize the big red hammer dude. Well, the Boosterama seems to be RNG based anyway. My score ranges from 1.6M to 2.6M with the same strategy.

Laser Bean (LB) may be more powerful than Bowling Bulb; it is for me anyway with Mastery plants.  Just have enough SUN for replacing LB when needed to clear Tombstones and Necromancy (if no mint ready)

Primal Potato Mine (PPM) along with Squash instead of dual PPM

My final foray at Toadstool level 1 was a success.  1.32M score and I even have a screenshot of a similar final layout !

I have to admit the CP strategy looks way less chaotic though.

You are both truly amazing.  I humbly submit a very close call victory.  Last second boosted Caulipower vaults me over my opp.

Level 1 victory with Enlighten-mint and no SUN plant !  I neglected to replace Conceal-mint with Sun-shroom !!

1.78M victory for a Level 1 high score using Snap Pea !
