@mwedwards -- That is one cool plant, even if it makes me want to sneeze when I see it.  I don't have an iOS device but if your progress isn't available on either device when you play, and given that nobody else has spoken up yet, I'd suggest contacting official support as shown below.  (I've copied this from one of the sticky posts above for you.)

You can also contact Customer Support from within the game on iOS (and Android) by tapping Help in the game’s Main Menu, then filling out the form that appears in a browser window.
