guess I'll be playing Modern Day for the next few weeks in hopes of collecting seed packets since I am locked out of Pinata Party.
any one else not getting the daily 9 FREE Gems and FREE Gauntlets ? Past three weeks has been none at all.
We can get seed packets for the Shadow Peashooter while playing Battlez matches. (Although not always, it would seem - See below.)
There are Pinatas that are dedicated entirely to Modern Day plants interspersed among the rest of the rewards, and they include seed packets for the Shadow Peashooter.
Having said that, although I had a lot of Shadow Peashooter seeds in the first few Modern Day pinatas I won, they suddenly seemed to dry up. I received NO Shadow Peashooter seeds in the last three Modern Day Pinatas I won.
It seemed weird, because all five of the regular plants from that world got seed packets but nothing at all for the Shadow Peashooter.
Perhaps there's a daily limit been imposed on how many times you can claim seeds for the SP, or on the number of packets you get in a day, and I've hit one of those limits?
I've played and won 45 matches today. In doing so I won 6, or perhaps it was 7 Modern day pinata rewards, but got SP seeds in only the first few.
Perhaps I'll get some more tomorrow? I'll know soon enough, as there's a Modern Day pinata reward waiting for me just 3 steps away from where I left off tonight.
I purchased the 100-gem Modern Day pinata and didn't get a single Shadow Pea Shooter.
So if we purchase Shadow Pea Shooter Pinatas - those seeds don't actually level-up the plant? I've heard that the 250 seeds just "vanish" and all you get is a level zero Shadow Pea Shooter?
If that's the case, you wouldn't want to purchase those Shadow Pea Shooter Pinatas until AFTER you've unlocked the plant.
Same here. Spent 100 Gems and no Shadow Peashooter seed packets. It is a Special Plant so maybe that is why ?!
I have only been able to collect Shadow Peashooter seed packets as part of the 12 hour tracker (5 slots) and winning in BattleZ. I have not been able to see if the number has changed much from yesterday to today...
I agree with another post that 25 Gems for just 10 Shadow Peashooter seed packtes ( and 10 other Shadow seed packets) is too expensive. 10 Gems could be tempting to get over the hump to the next level though. :-)
Guys, don't waste any more of your gems. You won't get ANY seed packets for the Shadow Peashooter in the 'Seed Packets for 100 Gems' shop. If you tap the information tag at the top right of the Modern Day mini window, you'll see that only the regular plants are included. - Moonflower - Dusk Lobber - Shadow Shroom - Grimrose - Nightshade.

For those of you who wish to 'buy' the new shady plant, you can only get it from the Shadow Peashooter Pinata and NOT the Morden Day Pinata.
This plant, if purchased this way would actualy be the most expensive plant to date!
The plant requires 250 seeds to unlock, we get 50 seeds given (as a bait?) by completing a quest so the remaining 200 seeds can be purchased. 25 gems guarantee you 10 seeds, thus 250 gemns for 100 and 500 gems for 200 seeds. We would get some seeds ‘free’ from various daily quests but you will need to spend them on level ups.
As this offer is for a limited time and EA is not likely to tell us when it will be back once it is ended, so my recommendation is if you have 500 gems spare, then buy this plants now and any seeds gained by completing quests can be used for leveling up.

I did notice late last night and this morning that I only received one Shadow PeaShooter seed packet out of the 10 seed packets from the 5 Modern Day pinata tracker. And this morning I was starting fresh again (someone already has a Level 4 Shadow Peashooter and I was beat at Level 16) and my fourth victory was the Modern Day Pinata and none of the 30 seeds went to Shadow PeaShooter.
So maybe there is a throttle after the first day !!
Over 100 Shadow PeaShooter seeds already...including the quest completed.
Could be just random, couldalso be that EA is manipulating the probability to get some kind of seeds. and that there is no equal probability to get the plants seeds of one World.
I felt like that when I was trying to get seeds for Dusk Lobber or Blover (some plants very efficient in Battlez - when they are not banned), it did look that I got less than what I should expected.
Kinda hard to draw a conclusion since we are biased on that and we are dealing small numbers 🤨
They've done two separate BAIT & SWITCH tactics this week.
Before, you ALWAYS were guaranteed seed packets you didn't want, simply because they would try to bait you into buying that dangling carrot each week. This was the norm.
Surprise! This week you NOT only do NOT get SP packets in your standard battle pinantas for that carrot (at least I never did). But you are NOT even guaranteed to get any from the SPECIAL Modern Day pinantas from Battlez. You MAY... but that's a big if.
So far, 160 Packets awarded to me from the SPECIAL Modern Day pinatas that we were told could earn what we needed. And I got 0... yup. Not a single one.
This has never been how it was BEFORE this week's bait & switch moves.
All one can do is laugh again. I had a FEELING EA was going to be up to its cash-cow tricks again.... 🙂

One warning. Do NOT... I repeat NOT spend your gems first on the 25-for-10 deal. Because if the rumors are true, once you accumulate a few packets, your chances of winning more get greatly diminished.
Do battlez FIRST... then do the guaranteed purchases after so you don't get hit by biased RNG.
I got really, really lucky with last nights pinata parties and got 3 shadow peashooter seed packets of 3 each!

Even when you think they are genuinely doing things, no they always have a way to make profit somehow.
Yesterday and the day before when I played Pinata party I had everytime as a reward random seeds + shadow peashooter seeds + coins.
So I got that 4 times, I was thinking we would have that during the next two weeks.
Nope
This morning the shadow peashooter seeds became normal peashooter seeds.
But should we be surprised ?
They do the same when there is a plant of the week: they give seeds for the premium plants as a quest reward, and many of thoses seeds in Battlez.

This has been confirmed by EA's support member, Haemophilus_EA, the seed packets are removed from Battlez.
Thanks for the update. Yesterday I did not receive any Shadow PeaShooter seed packets whilst playing BattleZ so now I understand why. I will just jockey for position this weekend and decide if I should stay in Gold League (4th place and save my Gauntlets) or try Jade League one more time (third place) !!
FYI, today I was very lucky that 4 out of 5 Pinata Trackers gave me seed packets for Shadow Peashooter. Yesterday it was just one of five !

EA is always working on players' frustration.
With the quest, pinata rewards and pinata trackers, most of the players will have almost 250 but not enough to get the 250.
So players will be frustrated "Oh no, I just need 20 seeds to unlock it, let's buy some gems with my money"
I did not follow on Reddit, maybe @Humplemann or @eieio_31310 can confirm but I read that first they were denying it, then they change their speech...

Misters and Madams who are developping the game - or should I say the business model - (and I'm not speaking about the employees here that are just doing their jobs), I must admit, I am really impressed by how far you are going on the freemium concept and how you are dedicated to the payers (hum sorry) players.
Everytime, I think you are done with new mechanics frustating players to force them to pay or watch more and more ads, you keep innovating.
Adding Pinatas with random seeds *cough* Lootboxes anyone ?* to improve plants.
Adding levels which are really difficult so players will spent coins and power ups on them.
Making a PvP mode that create a gap between P2W and F2P players.
Promoting ad(s) nauseam plants of the week.
Introducing a new currency that you can mainly get with this PvP.
Introducing new plants that can only be obtained and upgraded with that currency in a short amount of time.
Adding a streakbreaker (is there players that really believe it does not exist ?) so people don't get so many rewards.
Nerfing free plants from Battlez because they are too powerfull either by banning them *cough* Blover * cough* , making them have a really convenient bug *cough* Magnet-shroom *cough* or making a combo impossible *cough* banning sun producing plant so nerfing Dusk Lobber *cough*?
And now Buffz and Bruisez which I'm sure will have to tend to target the best plant families/best plants in the future. But good new here guys, we may be able to see Blover unbanned from Battlez when Contain-mint family will be nerfed by Bruisez !
Now it's not "what will the new updates bring to the game but what will the new updates bring to frustrate and force player to pay even more ?"

Lmao, it looks like they finally realize that they can't do anything they want and that without the community they are nothing.
Last week with the nerf "bug" of Cauli, this week with SP seeds, it's good that players voice their discontents and make things change.
It will not make the game better but at least it will not be worst.
It's nice that Haem is here to listen to us.
On the two first days of this week tournament, there were Modern Day Battlez Pinatas with Shadow peashooter seeds on them.
But after two days, they backed off saying SP seeds should not have been in theses Pinatas in the first place, and there were no longer SP seeds in Modern Age Battlez Pinatas.
Which made the community really upset on Reddit (especially after all the bugs we had recently, and the Cauli issue last week).
So again they backed off and now they are saying that SP seeds will be available in Battlez rewards.
