This week's Battlez seems to be much easier for me, maybe because I have been dropping in leagues a few times during the busy X'mas & New Year periods. I am currently in Bronze and most recording I got are around 380K. What this means I only need 400K or above to get a win. My average is around 500K and have been lucky afew times with 600K+.
This has been a horrible week for me, i decided that the plant selection was so awful that I'd rather get demoted than play (much).
I finished 14th in my jade league, with 67 crowns (12 wins and 7 losses), my highest score for the week was 535k and lowest was 174k.
I didn't like kiwibeast before, now i loathe it and Nastery even more.
StarFruit BattleZ has been pretty tame for me this week in Gold League. Hamster balls not much of an issue via Spearmint and Imps handled easily by either a column of StartFruit (or Shadow Peashooter)
Having enough SUN seems to be the big challenge at the start and at the end. I did not even try to use Gold Bloom this week as putting down 6 MoonFlowers provides plenty oif SUN for the entire BattleZ challenge.
Every once in awhile an IMP takes out a plant but it is easily replaced or an Octopus covers a MoonFlower..
Scores have been pretty steady at 1.5M - 2M max
I got fed up with octopi throwing squids over my moonflowers so i changed to Goldbloom and i found out that i could do away with spearmint as my level 10 starfruit burst them in the high scoring zone.
Electric blueberry week- won 2, lost 2 and can't get more than 1.8m with my high level plants. Have just managed to get 13th place from 7th by cunningly not playing any more and pretending to be invisible. I'm back in jade this week and keep getting crushed by mastery level opponents. Going back to bed with a box of jaffa cakes.
I am in Jade League as well this week and have defeated quite a few opps using dup Caulis using Mastery Bowling Bulb and walnuts !
SUN starvation has only happen a few times and multiple Footballers do wreak havoc quite a bit. Quite the challenge this week.
I find it interesting that my opponent didn’t even have an electric blueberry.
@amacinnz This is not an isolated incident. Many players have reported similar issues, my personal guess is that the (gem tax collection) bots has malfunctioned and selected the wrong cover up this week.
Perhaps skynet has launched it's attack on the human race using gem tax collector bots?
My policy of hiding behind the sofa wearing a tinfoil hat now has me in 15th place.
I shouldn't eat cheese late at night.
When the gem tax collector bot comes to your game, it only need to show you your opponent wins with a higer score, regardless whether your score is 500K or 5M.
I agree about a difference between Practice and actual BattleZ performance. Very disappointing.
From personal experience, when I am using low level plants, I would notice the intended streak breaker acting at game 7 and games 10, when I play with higher level plants I find passing the streak breaker tests easier, so only notice its action now and then at higher winning streaks. Take the recent Goldbloom week for example, I only lost at the 121 st game I played and this was on the 1001th streak (which coincidentally, a mints reward -- just like win streak 7 and 10! I will check if I have an image of this lost and post it up here later)
I think league has lot to do with it, i never seem to have a real problem until i get to jade, i could still do well and come up with a winning combo/strategy even in jade, but over the last few weeks that's changed and i find myself in the position of having to take weeks off just to get demoted or putting jaffa cakes on the altar of eieio and praying to get soiled (again).
@MAGICDAVESHROOM LOL... I do not have the ability to put player to soil league....
hmm, but you have got me thinking, just wondering whether putting $$$ to EA/PopCap's game design team can lure them to give us a new league selection button where players can chose with league to compete at the start of the Battlez week.
You could always put that in the "what do we want?" Post to be ignored.

As snowpea week is being repeated i thought I'd go through my screenshot archive for ideas.
This is last year's match.
I found a huge variation in scores from around 500k to 2.8m, for low-med level plants.
I tried a couple of practice matches using the same setup with my high level plants and couldn't break 1m.
Then again zombies have been boosted since then.
I think i have found a new strategy that will get me a steady 1.2 (in practice).

Looks like I'm going up to jade today, finished first in gold with around 671 crowns, 6 losses (3 of those level 1).
It's been pretty boring and my only challenge has been getting over 2m (twice).
Worst moment happened when i started without placing any plants (we've all done it), i still managed to win 857k vs 550k.
Finally managed to break 8m this week!

I broke 5.7M and still lost !! My first score over 5M and I lose to Mastery Witch Hazels...
Never get 5mil when using Hazel, so I back to Cauli, normally at 5mil with lv8.
Also pls help me if I was wrong, is winning streak reward reset after 99 ? First time I thought it was my account issue, but every time I reached to 99 wins, reward back to first win prize, made me give up
The streak rewards are in a group of 98, but every 98th match the multiplyer increases by 1 so your 99th match shows you your first reward but you get twice the shown value, and so on until you get 10 times the stated value. If your streak really has reset the number above it will go back to 1.
