@HenryThePear Everyone could have maintained a long streak because you could just reinstall. This would save your streak but the cost to retain it would reset to 10 gems...so you only had to pay 10 gems in case you lost a match. 

I would guess that 8/10 players who managed to get a 10x used this exploit to maintain their streak. I also think that this was one of the reasons Popcap decided to get rid off the old streak system. They did everything to make you lose by adding bots with impossible scores but since players could just maintain the streak for 10 gems that didn't really help. No idea why they couldn't fix this glitch but it looks like the only way was to implement a new streak system o_O

Edit: I'm not implying @CCMark2013 or any other forum members used this glitch 😉

    @PowerToss I guess you were correct at some extent. There are many ytbers showed this trick and somehow i did not know about it o_o. Only when MagicDave told me I would know about that process.
    And when you have reached your plants to certain levels I would think people no longer have to retain streaks,somehow I saw some people in the 800+ streak even scored lower than I do. How algorithm worked @_@@

    @PowerToss Actually I never had to spend any gems to maintain my streak.

    The bot that kills winning streaks was always inevitable.

    So whenever I would come across an obvious bot, I would simply surrender before the game ended - exit the game - reenter - and my streak would still be there.

    @CCMark2013 Thanks for the info! Guess that would have been another option...I always thought this only worked on iOS but I might be wrong.

    Hmm, I too did not know this would work on IOS and because I do not like tempting fate on the bugs by re-installing I used to just end my streak and start a new one once it reaches 100 gem a go. (plus this also allows me to play with my level 1 plants)

    I'm not sure about this week's arena....

    Rewards are back to normal - low scores - and lulls in the action where there are no zombies.

    Top so far is just a hair over 2M

    what strategy are you using? I don't have any good mints do my score is around 500k. it sucks I can't wait to get more mints.

    I used this strategy last year and got from 700k to 1M(No mints). Puff shrooms cause penalties but it protects torchwoods.

    @jeffypop1978My mints - to me anyway - aren't as effective, except for maybe spearmint.

    I'm using sun-shroom in the first column - feed it plant food to build up my sun supply - then use 3-peater - fill up entire board during the battlez - except Torchwood in column 6 - last 3 columns save for spearmint/appeasement/squash.

    Once board is filled with 3-peater, replace column one sun-shrooms with 3-peater - feed it with plant food.

    But my scores are so inconsistent - lack of zombies!

    I'm still experimenting with various combos...

    Mark,  this strategy I just reached 2M with my Mastery profile !

    Fill lawn then then use mints for final 90+ seconds

    @lawmfw That's pretty much what I'm doing at the moment 🙂

    Still trying to achieve a higher score with a different combo - but not enough waves of zombies!

    take what we get and move on...I will work on my next 200 crowns to reach L4 Ultomato !!

    easy peasy this week for Mastery to just plant and watch... 

    thx Mark - not really trying for top scores as there are enough players doing just that these days !!!

    @lawmfw My main goals are to build up mints and level up my plants, especially when the streak rewards are doubled.

    I really don't pay attention to my position in the standings - like you say others are playing these games for hours and hours to get ridiculous points in the standings.

    I hit level 5 of ultimato during the last arena - but barely have used it, to be honest.

    But I love it when I can finally find a winning strategy!

    @HenryThePearYea I've ex - spear - imented without spearmint.

    I found that it's not really necessary - more of a buffer than anything else.

    I'm trying different mints - since they don't cost anything.

    Also - Explode-O-Nut....interesting....but you get penalized for it!
