The PVZ2 App on my iPhones ranging from 1.4GB to 2.3GB so I assume Android takes something similar. Since you have over 3GB spare so this is not likely to be a memory issue. This appears to be an incomplete update or data corruption.
If you have not yet note down your player ID and register your email (to link your PVZ2 game save progress to your email), I suggest you should do so now before attempting any remedies.
IIRC, for Android system, under settings, there is a local cache for the PVZ2 App you can try to clear out first just in case there is data corruption there. Shouting out for knowledgeable Android users to confirm how this is done please?
If this action makes no difference, the next thing would be doing a re-installation of the game but before doing this, you nned to be aware that for the first two days after re-installation, you will be treated as a new starter with limited store offers so please finish all your store purchases first or you might be missing out the time sensitive offers if you are playing on a single device.
