Transfer Plants vs Zombies 2 Android Save File

Hi, I have been playing Plants vs Zombies Australian version - com.ea.game.pvz2_row since October last year but I have changed my Play Store from Australia to US and I no longer have access to Plants vs Zombies "row" version but I do have access to Amercian version - com.ea.game.pvz2_na

What I would like to do is transfer my save file from row version to the US version.  How can I do this?

I have tried the methods that have been detailed on this thread, but to no avail. I could transfer the data and pickup my progress, however, the moment I turn on my internet connection - my progress is reset.

On a separate note, why can't EA have just have one version and have it available worldwide? What is the deal with ELECTRONIC ARTS and Electronic Arts Inc - Why are there two?
