Watching ads to get free coins/gems only works on one device
It's hard to explain, but I have 1 account on multiple devices. Yes, it's a little trick I discovered as sometimes, this device runs out of ads to view in order to earn free coins and gems. So I swit...
I have occasionally received the "out of ads" message but never for very long

In addition to possibly running out of ads to serve you, there might be ads available but you're not the target demography. It probably tracks what device you have and the apps installed.
I suspected this because I had a shopping app I uninstalled recently and voila! Ads for this app almost every time!
Check the type of ads you are getting and you can kinda tell how EA sees you. With the ads I'm getting, I think EA thinks I'm an old Indian lesbian woman with a cough problem. Nothing wrong with that and I'm fine with it. The coughing is true though... It's just amusing.
