There are lots of players with more than one profile, virtually everyone you talk to on this forum has multiple profiles, but if you buy anything except for a premium plant then it is ONLY applied to the profile you bought it through.
These are virtual rewards so it costs EA nothing to do this and would actually generate more revenue for them because players would probably buy more stuff from the store.
If you bought say an early access bundle for Ultomato wouldn't you be more inclined to buy it if the plant AND the extra seeds were applied to all your profiles or even a limited number of profiles?
Under current store rules the profile you buy it through gets the full package and your other profiles just get the basic plant.

@MAGICDAVESHROOM I totally agree with you, I just thought I'd seen a post somewhere that said a recent update had removed the ability to create more profiles, maybe I dreamt it!
You didn't dream it, i wrote it.
As part of the reinstallation process a new profile was automatically generated, with different updates they took this away, then brought it back then took it away again.
As far as i knew until i accidentally (don't ask me how) created a new profile the ability was taken away.
