If you want to sell in game content then a time when many people are self isolating at home is a good time to boost sales.
But why is the offer only available for players who don't have Squash yet?
Sell a bundle that includes:
Parsnip+Chomper+100 gems+10,000 coins
for 10.99€ / 9.99£ and make it available for everyone. Way more players would buy that bundle.

I bought Squash for gems, which is strangely bundled now with two cashium plants.
I don't have chomper or parsnip and instead of creating bundles that don't show up if you don't have a particular plant why don't they just sell cashiums with a decent discount?
If i bought that bundle it would have to be through an unused profile so i wouldn't get the 10,000 coins and as i already have Squash i am paying £9.99 for two plants, which is the same as they are normally.

@MAGICDAVESHROOM Exactly! 🙂 For you it would be the same deal as if you bought two premiums since you don't use your third profile. The thing is that only a fraction of the players have this bundle in the store since most players already have Squash...but if they changed "Squash" to "100 gems" and make the bundle available for all player, some players that don't have Parsnip and Chomper might actually consider buying it. It would be a discount since you get two Premiums, 100 gems and 10,000 coins.
I mean I still wouldn't buy it but I was trying to understand why they limit this offer to "new players". It makes no sense from EA side. Show this offer to everyone and not only to a fraction of players. Even if only a few player buy it they'll make more money.

Well, selling 3 items sounds more tempting than only 2 items for that price. And they may not want to sacrifice another cashmium (so that it'd be a bundle of 3 cashmiums, which would be too cheap a price for 3 cashmiums), so just add another gemium.
Meanwhile those who already had Squash will less likely consider it, as it seems less tempting with only 2 new items, especially when they really count and realize it's just the same as them buying the two cashmiums separately.
May...be..

@ForestOutlook Good analysis. Sounds like this could be the case.
New players are also more likely to fall for those kind of offers. Every time a Premium is plant of the week there is a red timer "7 days remaining" with no discount for the plant. After 7 days the plant is still in the shop for the same amount. Wonder how many players fell for those offers :/
- 6 years ago@PowerToss Should it be 7-day remaining instead !?!

Seeing as how some folks fell for that "Power Mint" pinata nonsense, I'm not surprised that EA would come up with other
Spoilerbogusless than stellar offers.
They do seem to be devotees of the wisdom of P. T. Barnum.
