We deserve better than this.
I am thoroughly disappointed with PvZ3, and it doesn't seem like PopCap even marginally cares. You probably know me already, I'm RCCH and I post Plants vs Zombies videos on YouTube. And to be honest ...
Here's the latest update on the situation, coming from reddit by Nicktrunks, the Community Lead for PvZ3.
I attempted to reach out via PR and the EA Creator Network. Unfortunately, PR did not give me a single response even when I asked them for it, and there is literally no ETA for them to ever reply to me via PR. Then I tried the EA Creator Network. This game has been so neglected by EA, that there isn't Plants vs. Zombies to choose from as a franchise on the EA Creator Network that can allow me to reach out formally. It's not that I'm not trying to reach out formally, but it seems like EA is doing nothing to help the Plants vs Zombies community flourish as much as it can, because there is literally no support available.
The excuses need to stop now. We need a better way to talk with each other, and this isn't it. Waiting for hours on end for a single response that has a whole load of nothing of meaning behind it, and it is literally impossible for content creators to reach out and it has been that way since 2018. Communication by both EA/PopCap are close to non-exsitent and more empty promises that more news will be shared with creators soon without an actual date of confirmation and any details related. If any of the community managers care, you could send an email to "[edit: email address removed]" or add me on discord "rcchyt" so we can at least have some form of direct communication instead of having to go over this over and over again that seemingly the community managers have not been doing anything to engage with the community. These are not conversations - these are just questions and answers. Conversations are 2-sided, not just 1 person asks a question and 1 person responds and the next thing is completely ignored.
The only people who have not been trying to reach out in this entire backlash, has been the EA/PopCap team who have relentlessly gave excuses over and over again to avoid any form of direct conversation. Stop it. This needs to end if we want Plants vs Zombies 3 to not end up being the next BFN or Heroes that end up getting cancelled over the lack of community engagement.
We deserve better than this. #savepvz

I definitely agree. Direct communication and conversations are whats going to be needed so that this game's release will do well and not flop. Currently, this game does not appease fans of the franchise with drastic gameplay changes and microtransactions hurt the enjoyment of the game by almost forcing you into using powerups. Even though i dont think its very plausible, big changes need to be made so that not only are fans happy, but so casuals can enjoy it too. In the current state of the game even casuals will get tired of the same gameplay loop with not enough variety. Also the needed use of microtransactions (powerups) to beat many levels that are only beatable with large amounts of luck is unfun for everybody. This hurts not just the players, but the developers themselves as they are not creating a captivating and fun enough game that will keep audiences playing and potentially spending on the game. I just want whats best for both parties and in its current state of the game, i fear for plants vs zombies future.
