Plants vs zombies battle for neighborville online play on nintendo switch

Recently for the holidays my 10 year old has tried to play PVZBFN on her nintendo switch however when she goes to play online it just says you need an EA account to play I have tried removing her EA ...

When did this restriction start? I have 2 kids (under 11) that are, at this very moment, playing PvZ online. And I have one kid who has the option to play online once a parent/guardian verifies the account. Our issue with his is that it just keeps circling, it won't actually let me verify his account.

We are stuck in the circling issues on the regular switch, but not the switch lite. What really boggles my mind is the switch lite child has a younger age restriction and it works for him!?
