The challenges for 80s Action Hero are as follows:
Earn 5,000 XP with 80s Action Hero.
Use the Levelling Up upgrade if you want to get this challenge faster. Skirmishes are effective, as defeating one can yield over 1,500 XP every time. Doing 3 will almost guarantee this challenge. Ops is also effective, you probably only have to do about 2 games, if playing solo (with levelling up) to get this challenge. If using 80s Action Hero in PvP, you want to aim for as many vanquishes as you can, as it nets you XP. The easiest way to gain XP for 80s is to simply play the game as that character. Destroying normal or gold targets will help a little bit if you're having some fun in Giddy Park, especially in Private.
Land 20 Hits with Can't Missile.
This is extremely good for bosses, as it's really simple to use your Bow Blaster to put tags on the boss, than fire your Can't Missile straight at them. Wait for the ability to recharge, rinse and repeat. If using 80s Action Hero in PvP, try to get all three tags on a player, than use this ability. Upgrades that could help with earning this challenge are "Improved Tracking", "Super Payload", and there are many other upgrades that help as well. There are upgrades that allows doing damage with abilities to put tags on the enemy,
Vanquish Multiple Enemies with One Rocket Ride 20 times.
This challenge could take some assiduous time and effort, but Rocket Ride is actually quite a decent ability and can do high damage. Ops and skirmishes can be handy for this challenge, due to high numbers of enemies appearing, or in Giddy Park, preferably set to private with Al, so you can focus on letting a few weeds build up, than activate Rocket Ride. If using 80s Action Hero in PvP, try to weaken a few enemies at once then use Rocket Ride, or focusing low health characters (if bunched together). If you see an Oak with Acorns riding on top, using Rocket Ride on them should net you 1 point for this challenge. "Free Ride" is an excellent upgrade to use for this challenge, as it only costs 2 points and extends your Rocket Ride every time you earn a vanquish, giving you more time to get another kill. And remember, aim for direct hits!
Deal 500 Damage with Dynamite Dodge.
This ability can deal up to 70 damage on a single plant, with splash damage as well. You have to get close to an enemy to damage it. Again, skirmishes and Ops are effective because you can get surrounded by groups of enemies, and then use this ability. You will achieve this challenge really fast if you can manage to do that. You can do the same thing if you get surrounded by groups of players, especially if you are playing in Turf Takeover and are defending or capturing the objective, because it's likely that there will be lots of enemies there. There are not any upgrades that particularly speed up this challenge, but the "Leg Day" upgrade helps you get further away when you use the Dynamite Dodge.
Land 500 Hits with the Bow Blaster.
Not charging your Bow Blaster when going for this upgrade is recommended, as you can fire your bow faster, and it shoots in a set of five. It does not matter how much damage you do with the bow, just that you hit and deal damage with it. Bosses are excellent for this if people in a free-roam region or ops, as you can feed off the boss and possibly get this challenge from this one boss. Being in a proximity of a Heavy Helper benefits you because you shoot even faster in that circumstance. If using 80s Action Hero in PvP, try to just keep shooting at plants without charging up if you want this challenge faster.
