A bunch of Variant/Ability Ideas I had
Basically all my old ideas reworked and a bunch of new ones.
Foot Soldier:
Foot Soldier Abilities:
Malfunctioning Rocket for ZPG replacement
You basically become a chili bean bomb and you are launched into the air like a rocket jump
Zombie Flash as Stink Cloud replacement
Has 3 charges, throws a small stink cloud that also disables abilities of plants when they are in it and for a short time after leaving it
Rocket Dash as Rocket Jump replacement
Basically a more horizontal version of Rocket Leap
Foot Soldier Variants:
UZZR Revolutionary
Weapon is the Zomboshkinov, has higher recoil, less range, and less accuracy than Z-1 Rifle, but much more damage. Also shots can make plants go woozy like the Hypno Shroom since the rounds are "Ruzzian Brain Soda" (zombie vodka)
Zombie Rifleman
Weapon is a Brainchester .308 rifle that is a more powerful version of the Camo Ranger's weapon but not as much zoom, more recoil, less magazine size, quite a bit more damage and fires as fast as you can pull the trigger.
Zombie Guerilla
Weapon is a powerful rifle that is less accurate than the Z-1 rifle but double the magazine. He also moves faster but has 25 less health.
Future Soldier
Weapon is an electric Z-1 assault rifle with faster projectile speed, slightly faster fire rate, less damage, and can charge shots. Still full-auto.
Urban Mercenary
Weapon is a UZP-45, an smg that has the half the magazine of the z-1 assault rifle, a little less damage, but a much faster fire rate, more critical damage, and a much faster reload speed. Holds his gun sideways because he is so cool (or at least he thinks).
Scientist
Scientist Abilities:
Warp replacement, Reverse Warp, has 3 charges and you warp backwards from your starting point
Heal Station replacement, Weed Remover, basically a heal station that damages plants and heals zombies faster as well, however it disappears faster than the regular heal station
Scientist Variants
Antarctic Researcher
Has a Penguin Freeze-Ray that has an ice spray similar to a Chomper's spray. It also has an overheat function.
Psychologist
Has 2 less shots than the Goo Blasters but faster reload. Enough shots can make a plant dazed like a Hypno Shroom effect from a long range. At close range though, plants are automatically hit with that Hypno-Shroom effect by the Psychologist's psychotic aura automatically, almost like toxic aura, but more close range.
Medical Doctor
Has a Med Blaster than shoots pills and syringes up close, his weapon also heals fellow zombies when they are hit by him. Plants also explode into healing fountains kind of how zombies explode into sunshine like stuffy flower. Has 25 less health though.
Geologist
Uses the Earth-Quaker to shoot good ol' rocks of all kinds at plants. Can also charge his shots into a stun shot that lasts for a small time. Is slower than the regular scientist, but has 50 more health.
Inventor
A Scientist so smart, that he has practically invented all Zombie appliances. Uses his microwave gun attached to an oven to damage plants, like Roadie Z's weapon kinda, and when it overheats, all plants are knocked back and stunned. Also moves faster with his patented bionic boots. His reload animation is him changing a light bulb on his machine, because after all, reloading is a good idea.
Engineer
Engineer Abilities
Sound Grenade replacement, Plant Deafen-er Bomb, a fused sound grenade that rolls around and then blows up into a massive stun.
Big Bolt Blaster replacement, Portable Zombot buddy, Engineer can deploy a Zombot Rocket Turret like the one he builds near his teleporters
Jackhammer replacement, Pogo-stick, lasts longer than Jackhammer, but gives less speed, however can jump much higher on the flipside.
Engineer Variants
Aeroplane Technician variant for Engineer
Shoots small miniature airplanes as fast as the Mechanic's air gun but they home in on enemies like Rose's thistles and explode as well.
Construction Worker variant for Engineer
Has more health than regular Engineer, but slower. Also shoot steel beams which do much more direct damage, are bigger, but shoots slower, slower projectile speed, and not as much splash damage radius.
Carpenter variant for Engineer
Shoots nails and saw blades that do more damage but no splash damage, more accurate and less recoil. Slightly slower fire rate, longer reload, and can penetrate targets.
Civil Engineer Variant for Engineer
Shoots coal that slightly smokes out a plant's vision and can be detonated in mid-air since he put some dynamite in them before hand. Also, every vanquish, he gets a speed boost called "Locomotive Rush". Has 25 less health.
Quantum Engineer
Uses his Quantum Arranger to shoot balls of particles only the gnomes know of. Can charge his shots to shoot implosions like the Plasma's Pea's.
Pyrotechnician
Shoots bombs that stick to the ground that then detonate into fireworks (that of course do damage, mind you).
Exterminator
Uses his vacuum to shoot Noxious Fume balls that turn into minature zombie stink clouds on a direct hit. Also overheats.
All-Star
All-Star Abilities
Imp Ball, replacement for Imp Punt, the All-Star kicks the Imp-punt in a straight line forward rather than throwing it, exploding on the first thing it hits.
Soccer Goal Shield, replacement for Tackle Dummy, has only one charge but a very wide soccer goal shield is placed. It is much more resistant to damage on its goal side but more vulnerable on its backside where the ball doesn't enter.
Sprint Slam, replacement for Sprint Tackle, has 2 charges, is basically a sprint tackle that does more damage but covers a much shorter distance.
All-Star variants:
Basketball Star
Has higher jump height and shoots copies of "Zombie Jam" from 1996 which does electric damage to plants
Soccer Star
Shoots soccerballs that can knock back plants, also can charge them for a "GOAL" hit which stuns plants and does massive damage. Any vanquish from a "GOAL" hit brings confetti because congrats.
Tae Kwon Do Star
Constantly regenerates health and shoots Toxic martial arts clothes. Has a black belt in bad foot smell. Also has 50 less health.
Gladiator Star
Shoots his Javeline Machine gun which looks something like this http://www.futuresack.com/uploads/images/Features/Mythbusters/Arrow%20Machine%20Gun%2001.jpg it more accurate, more damage, less fire rate, and can penetrate targets. Also has 50 more health but moves slower.
Imp
Imp Abilities
Blackhole Grenade, replacement for gravity grenade, creates implosion that drags in all plants that then launches them everywhere, better for dispersing and throwing plants off rather than keep them in one place.
Impzerker, replacement for Impkata, the Imp launches himself forward with his butt jets while shooting in all directions. Like Corn's Husk Hop, but shoots in all directions rather than just what is under him.
Imp Variants
Knight Imp
Shoots spiked balls at enemies which do more damage but slower fire rate. Has more health for speed as well. Also Z-Mech is a Knight suit that is melee. Sword combo is default attack, first special attack is an overhead flail smash to the ground, and the second one is a rocket arrow barrage.
Mutant Imp
Shoots toxic puddles with his blasters and has a toxic aura. His Z-Mech summon is actually instead him mutating into a toxic Gargantaur. Default attack is a toxic vomit beam, first special attack is a radial toxic attack/stun while growling, second special attack is an air strike that shoots down one big cone with a massive AoE and is toxic. No explosion if you revert back to regular Imp.
Battery Imp
Shoots batteries that have electrical damage, also has an overheat function, and when it overheats, an electrical shockwave comes around the Imp. His Z-Mech summon is an Robotic Gargantaur like the ones already in the game, hiding in the trash can on its back. Default attack is an electrical beam, first special attack is a battery acid spit which is basically goop that does electrical damage, second special attack is a straight forward melee attack where the Robotic Gargantaur pulls out two ends of a voltmeter and touch them together doing massive electrical damage to the poor plant infront of him. His destruction shoots the Imp forward like a missle from the trash can, and since the Imp acted like his battery, he shuts down into an electrical explosion.
Ice Cube Imp
Shoots ice cream at plants in order to freeze them, they also penetrate targets. His Z-Mech summons a robotic polar bear with a cold soda sprayer as its default attack, first special attack is an ice berg hurl that works like the ZPG, and the second special attack is a vicious claw swipe.
Grenade Imp
Shoots sticky grenades that explode after a while from hitting the surface. His Z-Mech summon is a massive Jack-in-the Box Bot, regular attack is a turret from the Jack in the Box's mouth, first special attack is a radial slam after jumping in the air and slamming down, second special attack is a grenade vomit attack from the Jack in the Box's head. The self destruct and including the regular vanquish of the Jack in the Box causes the head to go into the box and play the Jack in the Box tune, then unleash a massive explosion with a massive radius as well.
Nuts N Bolts Imp
Shoots screw drivers which do more damage but less fire rate, more accurate and more zoom and projectile speed. Z-Mech Summon is a transformer like Z-mech that arrives like a car but turns into a robot. Default attack is a robotic explosive punch cannon where it fire its fists at plants, first special attack is where it turns into a car and drives into plants, and second special attack is a power drill jab at the plants. Self destruct is the Mech turns into a car and ejects the Imp from the driver's seat and the car then crashes and explodes into the next thing it hits.
Super Brainz
Super Brainz Abilities
Heat Vision, replacement for Super Ultra Ball, Brainz shoots a powerful dual laser beam from his eyes at a plant rather than throwing an ultra ball at it. Is more accurate but no splash damage.
Mega Pile Driver, replacement for Heroic Kick, Brainz launches himself at a plant, and if he gets one, he then gives the plant his signature patent pending piledriver, throwing the plant into the ground, also stunning it if it somehow survives.
Super Cyclone, replacement for Turbo Twister, basically Turbo Twister but does less damage, but you move much faster during it and knock away plants who get near you.
Not a Bird, replacement for Heroic Kick, Brainz flies forward with a slightly more powerful and more distance covering attack, also when he does it in the air, he soars forward just like on TV. Has a longer cooldown than Super Kick however.
Super Brainz Variants
Gadget Brainz
Has more health but less move speed as regular Brainz. His jump is now a spring jump that is more lateral like the Solder's rocket leap rather than height oriented. His extendo punch also has more range than regular brain'z punch, and the third hit stuns plants. You can also zoom in and do an extendo punch on plants which also knocks them back. Kind of like a punching machine.
Psycho Brainz
Has more speed but less health than regular Brainz. His melee attacks are a faster chainsaw combo that also sucks health. His beam also now steals health. He also does more damage on lower health but regenerates health slower.
Anti-Brainz
Every time Anti Brainz makes a vanquish, he disappears for a few seconds. He can also insta-vanquish a plant if he hits them from behind, like a Chomper. His beam is an attractor beam that sucks in plants that get caught in it., if you do the beam again it becomes a repulsive beam that repels plants and alternates. His punches are also more damaging but are slower.
Brainz Freeze
Just the name of Ice Super Brainz, really self explanatory.
Magma Brainz
At close range, he uses his magma punches to set plants on fire and at range, he has a ranged flamethrower when zoomed in that penetrates plants as well.
Classic Brainz
Basically a comic style of Brainz with a more cel-shaded appearance. His punches have comic sounds when doing them, he also has heat vision for his zoom attack. His regular punches also knockback enemies.
Chomper
Chomper abilities
Tangle Kelp, spike weed replacement, smaller version of spike weed basically.
Spike Rock, replacement for spike weed, has only one charge but you can place three at any given time, each one can insta kills up to 3 zombies before going out, slow cooldown.
Camp Burrow, burrow replacement, you lose burrow at an extremely slow rate if you don't move, but lose more burrow much faster if you move compared to regular burrow.
Goop Sneeze, Goop replacement, basically Cheesy Goop from the first game, does more damage over time than regular goop but a slightly slower cooldown.
Goop Spit, Goop replacement, the Chomper spits a stream of goop, and if it hits, the zombie hit by it is hurled back to the Chomper
Chomper Variants
Shark Chomper
If you devour a plant, your burrow instantly regenerates and you can go back and burrow again. However, a fin sticks out of the ground while burrowing. Also sprays fish innards.
Spitty Chomper
This chomper can shoot goop from it's mouth, however it can't devour enemies unless he uses burrow/spikeweed.
Wind-Up Chomper
Can charge himself up to go into a frenzy mode where he moves fast and constantly chomps at an extremely fast rate, dealing massive amounts of damage to zombies.
Chomposaurus Rex
This Chomper is slower, however he can devour zombies only from their front. His digestion is slower, but he growls after digesting, stunning nearby zombies.
Peashooter
Peashooter Abilities:
Jalapeno, replacement for Chili bean bomb, is basically a chili bean bomb that has less range but leaves fire near it that can set on fire zombies on it. Like a molotov *tail.
Spring Bean Bomb, replacement for Chili bean bomb, all zombies in the explosion are stunned and knocked back rather than damaged, faster cooldown than regular chili bean bomb.
Sugar-Pea Rush, replacement for Hyper, trades jump height for even more speed and increased reload speed, however a stun cancels the effect altogether along with ice, dirt, and or an all-star tackle.
Machine Pea Gatling, replacement for Pea Gatling, a machine gun comes out from the Peashooter's mouth and has a faster fire rate and projectile speed but less damage and less ammo.
Peashooter Variants
Threepeater
Has three heads, shoots three peas at once then each head has to reload.
Split Pea
Pea's are fired in burst fire, also if a Zombie is behind you, the Repeater side fires a double burst of peas at that zombie until it is gone.
Bomb Pea
Shoots sticky exploding peas that can act like landmines as well.
Gangster Pea
Shoots regular pea's in full-auto, not the pea's like Commando Pea's, Landscaper version of Peashooter basically
Pea Pod
Has five heads, Pea's does more damage when closer to the last pea in the magazine.
Primal Peashooter
Shots have knockback, more generous splash damage, moves faster, however has 25 less health, slower reload, and slower fire rate.
Cactus
Cactus Abilities
Ice Lettuce, replacement for potato mine, can have 7 and freeze zombies, also activates whenever a zombie is in proximity rather than stepped on. Has a 3 second arm time.
Pea-nut, replacement for Walnut, has a little less health than the iron maiden but shoots peas at zombies as an AI. Also covers the same amount of space as an iron maiden.
Torchwood, replacement for Walnut, shots through Torchwood automatically become fire projectiles. Stacks with other elements, except Ice, Ice turns into a regular needle if gone through it. Only works for cacti and peashooters.
Tomato Drone, replacement for Garlic Drone, shoots a continuous beam of ketchup and has a slow cooldown but very powerful cherry bomb air strike.
Cactus Variants
Deputy Cactus
Has a revolver sticking out of her mouth, fires as fast as you can pull the trigger, has only 6 shots like Law Pea.
Aloe Vera Cactus
Zombies drop Sunshine bursts when killed by her. Her shots also pierce targets.
Ball Cactus
Shoots Balled Cacti that have splash damage.
Prickly Pear Cactus
Rather than having a sniper weapon, she instead has a 6 shot radial spike attack kind of like the Zoologist but with in all directions and a little more range.
Sunflower
Sunflower Abilities:
Sun-Shroom, replacement for Heal Flower, has two charges and can have two out at once, at first they heal slower than a heal flower, but after a while they heal the same amount.
UV-Ray Blast, replacement for Solar Flare Beam, when the sunflower is rooted, you can then shoot a massive continuous death ray for five seconds with a big radius, then the ability is over.
Intensive Carrotry, replacement for heal beam, pressing ability button now allows the sunflower to shoot intensive carrots at teammates, thus healing them, then press the ability button again to turn it off. They can also be used to revive teammates from a distance.
Double-Healflower, heal flower replacement, longer cooldown and less health than a regular heal flower, but heals twice as much.
Moonflower, replacement for heal flower, has 4 charges and fast cooldown, heals only once though, however if another moonflower is placed nearby, it then produces sun again, and it stacks so on forth.
Sunflower Variants
Double-Sunflower
You shoot two sunpulses at once at enemies, but longer reload and lower magazine size.
Primal Sunflower
Has 25 more health, moves faster, but has a biting attack rather than a long range attack, vanquishes by her gives sunshine bursts
Hypno-Flower
Has 25 less health, but can daze enemies like a Hypno-Shroom if hit enough times and automatically dazes them at close range.
Citron
Citron Abilities
E.C.Peach, replacement for EMPeach, longer stun time and no charge time unlike the EMPeach, however longer cooldown.
Stunion, replacement for EMPeach, you have three charges and can place four Stunions at once, they explode into stun gas when a zombie is nearby, stunning the zombie.
Rind Shield, replacement for Peel Shield, has more health than a regular peel shield but longer cooldown.
Infi-nut, replacement for Peel shield, a floating infi-nut guards Citron, has less health than a regular peelshield but regenerates its health constantly.
Citron Variants
Fugi-Citron
Has a semi auto laser beam that pierces enemies and fires as fast as you can pull the trigger
Termi-Citron
Has more zoom, when zoomed in, the screen turns red and all zombie targets are marked for only you to see. Weapon has less recoil, more damage, but overheats much faster. Weapon also marks enemies like Scuba Soldier's sonar
Organic Citron
Shoots one big shot with splash damage then overheats. Also moves faster and can detonate that shot in mid-air, has 25 less health though.
Corn
Corn Abilities
Cob Cannon, replacement for Shuckshot, has one charge. Allows Corn to place a small Cob Cannon that will hit a Zombie with a Shuckshot nearby. Has to recharge its Shuck Shot.
Kernel Popper, replacement for Shuckshot, instead of shooting explosive corn, you instead explode, dealing massive damage to nearby zombies
Crab Butter, replacement for Butter Barrage, Corn throws a Crab, then a bunch of buttered knives rain from the skies, they don't explode but instavanquish any zombie they land on.
Flip-Ear, replacement for Husk Hop, Corn does a back flip, shooting at anything in front of him.
Corn Variants
Movie Corn
Shoots bags of movie popcorn which have splash damage, more damage, but less fire rate and less magazine.
Tough Cobber
Slower, but more health, Also has a dual cob shotgun, which does more damage up close than at range.
Corny Jokester Corn
Shoots tomatoes, and if enough tomatoes hit a zombie, they will taunt, leaving them open to be damaged.
Rose
Rose Abilities:
Ribbify, replacement for Goatify, turns the zombie into a frog that can't ram, but has a smaller hitbox, is faster, and can jump higher.
Warp Snare, replacement for Time Snare, Zombies are now pulled to Rose rather than Snared, however while being pulled they can't do anything.
Vine-Guard, replacement for Arcane Engima, Rose is invincible for a longer amount of time than arcane engima, but can't move, however the vines protecting her can shoot powerful thorns nearby.
Rose Variants
Alchemist Rose
Thistles have more splash damage and do more damage, but slower fire rate.
Witch Rose
Has 25 less health, but gains health for damage done, like Vampire Flower
Captain Deadbeard
Captain Deadbeard Abilities
Parakeet Pal, replacement for Parrot Pal, has a continuous laser beam and shoots down a single explosive cone but faster cooldown.
Barrel Boost, replacement for Barrel Blast, Barrel Blast now allows Captain Deadbeard to use it as a way to reach new heights, however less blast radius and does less damage, but faster cooldown
Retro Cannon, replacement for Cannon Rodeo, you get a 3 shot cannon with a much faster projectile speed, but slower fire rate, also does more damage
The Big Ship, replacement for Cannon Rodeo, you get a one shot cannon that has a massive radius, massive damage, and a slower cooldown.
Captain Deadbeard Variants
NAZY Admiral
His close range weapon is a semi-auto pistol that only consumes one ammo per shot. His long range weapon is a sniper with extreme zoom, massive recoil, consumes two ammo, but does alot of critical damage.
Captain TuttiFruit
At close range he has a coconut cruncher that does alot of damage but takes 3 ammo and slow fire rate, and long range he has a triple burst sniper that shoot oranges. He ain't so scurvy with his fruit!
Swashbuckler
At close range he has sword launcher that has more range than the regular scurvy scattershot, at long range it turns into a musket that does alot of damage on impact but slower projectile speed and fires as fast as you can pull the trigger.
