Ability discussion: turbo twister

Turbo twister

Gw2 description:

The Turbo Twister transforms Super Brainz into a chaotic whirlwind, damaging Plants as they're sucked towards him.

Bfn description:

Spin rapidly, dealing damage to nearby enemies.

Gw2: Superbrainz will extend his arms and begin to spin rapidly while a twister appears around him that sucks in leaves and debris. It will deal 2 damage continuously to plants it hits. While he is in Turbo Twister, his speed increases and he takes 65% less damage. It can be canceled early if he is hit by an attack that does knockback such as Big Stump's Club Bash or getting ensnared by a Spikeweed. It lasts 3.5 seconds and has a 25 second cooldown.

Bfn: lasts 2.5 seconds and has a 14 second cooldown. It deals 13 damage continously for 65 dps total.

Has 2 upgrades.

Typhoon:

Knock enemies away with Turbo Twister.

Turbo Twister knocks enemies 2.35m (7.71 ft) upward and 10m (32.81 ft) backward.

Recuperate: Gain health by dealing damage with Turbo Twister.

Dealing damage with Turbo Twister heals the player at a rate of 4 HP per hit, can give overhealth.

I love the mobility the gw2 twister offers but I wish it either did more damage or we had a damage focused alt. The bfn twister feels too short and the dps is outshined by you primary attack so there's no real reason to use it. The gw2 version also looked much better as the twister is much more vibrant amd sucks up objects like leaves for a visual effect. The upgrades for the Bfn twister also seem counterproductive like the typhoon.

  • Turbo Twister has been an odd bird. It used to be pretty sick in GW2, but after it got nerfed, it feels rather lackluster. It was too good before, but I would say they need to decide what it's main purpose is and then focus on that (escape, attack, or crowd control). Maybe have other versions or upgrades to change it to your playstyle like you mention would be best. The quest to take plants out with it in GW2 is only viable at the flag of power after that nerf, and even then it takes some work, even with the flag's bonus.

in BfN, Typhoon does indeed feel counterproductive, but recuperate is quite good, especially in Ops. I prefer the GW2 version though.

@Iron_Guard8It dealt a ton of damage and sucked enemies in gw2 which combined with early superbrainz 50 damage kicks was a bit much.

I would like alts more than a full rework as a twister to block damage and escape is not a bad idea but a slower moving damage based ability would be good for crowds and damage based quests.
