- @34975634954957 Heavy for me. Better aim. If it was on pc then no aim assist since you have more control.
I keep mine off because I encountered issues with Aim Assist selecting a different target than the one I intended when two or more opposing team members are bunched up. I also observed an issue where t repeatedly selected a Potato Mine hidden behind a terrain feature instead of the Cactus firing from a position near it because the mine was between me and her and that lost me the 1v1 we wound up in.
- @34975634954957 i have my aim assist on light. I don't like the way heavy aim assist works. I don't think it helps with aiming at all. all it does is dramatically slow down ur aim when your reticle thing gets close to an enemy. not helpful when you have high sensitivity.
- Light assist for me, I find heavy awkward.
- @mikepal19 Hey, PC player here, aim assist doesn't actually activate on PC unless you plug in a controller, just thought that should be mentioned.
- @Sammichu Oh ok good to know. Haven't played a fps on pc since CS lol
I detest heavy aim assist because it’s only used as a manipulation tool.
In BfN, people who use heavy aim assist are usually those who bunny hop/intentionally throw off their hit boxes. In GW2, it was characters like Agent Pea that could aim hack (with heavy aim assist), when manipulated correctly.
I wish they’d limit bunny hopping or remove heavy aim assist from BfN.
No offense, @mikepal19 , I just can’t stand people trying to take advantage of mechanics.
EDIT: phone
2nd EDIT: @34975634954957 Do you bunny hop with small characters? Not being rude, just curious.
- @spIash_damage No that's fine. For most part, all console fps use a form of aim assist. Because compared to PC, you don't have the fine motor control. Console aiming is assisted because you can only use your thumb muscles to adjust your aim. With a PC, you have superior control because you have muscles of your hand, forearm and even upper arm to adjust your aim.
With that said, at any elite level of any fps game, you have to take advantage the mechanics otherwise, naturally you would get taken advantage of if you don't. And it sucks that it's like that but that's the reality. There are people who play casually and don't care about it and there are other casuals who do. Either dev's can patch it somehow, or people have to use it to compete. Or don't use it and just get use to the situation.
You can do WAY more on PC than you can on console with heavy aim assist. This is applied throughout all shooting games. This assist is just to close the gap between the two platforms.
I don't need to heavy aim assist because I feel I have decent aim but there are things you can do with heavy assist that you can't without it. And I won't let someone have that over me in this game. Therefore I use it as it will definitely be used on me. Im not judging if you don't wanna follow that path, cuz that's your choice. But just know that taking advantage of certain mechanics are common place which can be seen all the way up to the professional levels. Just gotta adapt I guess. I'm lost, what is the connection between bunny hopping and heavy aim assist? I don't bunny hop but use heavy because my aim sucks especially with this new logitech controller on pc...to be honest the difference between chars makes impossible to me to have a comfortable sensitivity.
Example, imp you could run high sensitivity with heavy and do well...try that with citron or cactus no zoom fire and see if you can hit a bunny hopper, impossible...for them I need a really low sensitivity and no or light aim assist.
This new controller is driving me insane, the thumstick for aiming is so hard to use.
@mikepal19 All due respect, I don’t bunny hop and only those with uber internet connections can frag me regularly. I will not bunny hop and shoot in this game ever. 😊👍. I’d rather die than resort to these tactics. I experience you as a respectful person and hope I convey the same to you even though our perspective is opposing.
@Gormey it’s TRASH. People find these things that can be abused and that exactly what they do; abuse them. On console, you can try to hit a bunny hopping enemy without aim assist, with light assist, and with heavy assist and the result will vary (depending on a multitude of contingencies).... however, if you’re the one bunny hopping and can get close enough to an opponent, it’s like your crosshairs refuse to leave your opponent/it’s HARD to miss. With console, this is a HUGE advantage because we aim and jump with the same thumb but those with heavy aim assist can do both at the same time; it’s almost like cheating to me. Hope this makes sense. The heavy assist allows you to jump and shoot and barely miss when you learn the “technique.”
EDIT: I didn’t use Captain Cannon in GW2 because he was cheap. Same with Agent Pea using heavy aim assist as well as Electro Pea. Just because it’s easier to kill people with these methods doesn’t make you a better player and when you face people that can really aim and don’t employ these tactics, you’ll die.
