For now, you can use Citron as an effective way to deal with Steam Blasters, Brainium Bashers and Wizards. Ball a distance away from them and attack them from a distance. Shield if you find your health is starting to get low or a high-damaging attack is coming at you. You also could stun them or use Navel Laser.
I'm fine with wizard as is...I know if you asked me if I'd rather play team vanquish against a twosome, (zombie plus wizard), (plant plus sunflower) or a (zombie plus scientist) I'll choose wizard everytime as it's much easier to deal with.
Are these group ups super annoying? YES! But, the wizard combo is the much easier of the three to deal with.
Hmm, I think Wizard is OP only when in co star, otherwise OK. But for sure, as it's nemesis, can take out Night Cap in a single shot of Spell Disater. But like @benn1nat0r said, costar with Super Brainz or Scientist is an great combo. I usually search for Super Brianz to co star with
