An Overview of Pots, Bots and Summonables, With Tips!
Hi everyone,
This guide of mine here covers the placeable Pots, Bots and Summonables to an extent. This guide will cover different aspects of them such as how to use them, which modes they are available in, why they are useful to place and utilise, and much more. Some tips are also included for how you should use them effectively.
Where Pots, Bots and Summonables are Available!
Pots and Bots (their placement locations) are available in Garden Ops (Pots only), Graveyard Ops (Bots only), Gnome Bomb and Turf Takeover (when you are on the defending team only). For some reason, there are also 2 Pot locations available whenever you spawn in Plants Town Center, at the front of the Plant base.
Summonables are only available when you are placing Turf Takeover, and you are on the capturing team. They can help you capture and contest the objective, so make use of that.
How To Access Them
In Turf Takeover, Gnome Bomb and Garden and Graveyard Ops, there will be Pot locations, Bot locations and dirt piles (depending on the exact mode you are playing and which faction that you are on). At these locations, you can place Pots, Bots or Summonables to fight for you and your team's cause as an ally. You do not need to pay any Coins or any other currency to place these, but you do need to wait a cooldown before you can plant them again, so timing can be important. These summoning locations will always appear on the same place on every map.
Their Usefulness
As well as getting XP for placing Pots, Bots and Summonables, they are also really useful because they help your team. They can provide extra firepower, heal you and your team, distract or disrupt your enemies, or provide a nuisance to your enemies as they need to vanquish your Pots, Bots and Summonables as well as your team. Keep in mind that the other team can place their own Pots, Bots and Summonables as well (this does not apply in Garden and Graveyard Ops). If you place them early on, their cooldown can begin (and end) sooner.
Why Location Is Important
Location of where you plant your Pots and Bots is really important, because by placing certain Pots and Bots in particular areas, they can become more effective then if you were to place them somewhere else, and it is easier to protect the ones that cannot defend themselves from your enemies as well. As for Summonables, on the other hand, it does not really matter where you place your Summonables, but you may want to place the ones that have more range further away from the objective, while you place the ones that are less range closer to the objective, instead, so they do not have to travel as far. But the location of your Summonables are not as important.
For instance, you probably want to place your Pots and Bots with more range in front of the objectives, so they can attack enemies that approach. You may want to try and place your close range Pots and Bots around corners or in the objective, because enemies are more likely to get closer to these Pots and Bots and your Pots and Bots can perform more effectively in those situations. Your Heal Pots and Bots should probably be placed hidden from enemies, perhaps further away from where your enemies generally approach, where your team can peacefully heal and where your enemies are less likely to find it in the first place. Use the locations of where your Pots and Bots should be placed wisely to improve how effective they are.
Tips and Conclusion
Here are some tips to help with effective use of Pots and Bots:
- If you mainly are just placing Pots, Bots and Summonables for the XP, it may be worth using the Levelling Up upgrade for 2 points, as you get an extra 10% XP from the placement of each Pot, Bot and Summonable you place. You only get 1 extra XP per Pot, Bot or Summonable placed this way, but it will add up over time.
- Try to place and replace Pots, Bots and Summonables as soon as you get the chance, so their cooldown can begin after placing them. However, if you would like to save some for a specific session or situation, like overtime, you could wait to place it until then.
- If you can remember where your Pot, Bot and Summonable locations are in a map, it will become much easier to place them as these locations never change. Additionally, if you learn to place them down quickly, and you can choose which one you should summon appropriately to the situation, that can really help you gain a supportive advantage, and leave you less vulnerable when you go to place one.
- If you do retreat because your health is getting low, you can head to a nearby Pot, Bot or Summonable location while you are waiting to heal, and place one, to help your team. If you are able to place a Pot, Bot or Summonable that can heal you, it may be worth placing it, as it will quickly heal you to full health, then it can heal other allies and you can get XP for it after you have finished healing with it.
- When you or an ally places a Pot, Bot or Summonable, you will not be able to place another one in that specific location that you placed it for a short amount of time, until it is vanquished or a certain amount of time has passed. However, if you linger near an area where you are able to place one, you can frequently resummon Pots, Bots and Summonables. They are generally located near objectives, so you should not have to particularly have to go out of your way to do so.
- Depending on the character that you are currently using, you can heal, protect or even combo with your Pots, Bots and Summonables, or you could even technically use them for protection by hiding behind them if you wish. Because you are able to continuously resummon Pots, Bots and Summonables, you can continue to use any of these techniques to your advantage. This also works if you use Pots, Bots and Summonables that an ally has placed.
- If you are able to manage this, you could place Pots, Bots and Summonables to surprise enemies. If enemies are around, but are not paying attention to you, you could quickly place a Pot, Bot or Summonable, as a way to launch a surprise attack or to deal more damage and to gain more firepower on an enemy, especially if your Pot, Bot or Summonable distracts your enemy, and then you jump in and attack as well.
Hopefully this overview guide to Pots, Bots and Summonables helped out, especially if you normally do not use them or do not know how to make use of them effectively! Have a nice day everyone!
