I agree. This event has gone into my top 3 least favorite events. (A.K.A. The least balanced events: "Serve and Volley," "Battle of Accuracy," and this) The only way for the chompers to win is for their team to be really good, and the scientists really bad. They took out the ranged characters (yeti chomper and astronaut) because they wanted it to be a close range battle, yet they left the paleontologist, who is pretty much a Captain Flameface with different abilities. Speaking of abilities, they are not even. If the scientist have the heal beam, they can heal each other very fast. If they use a heal station they can jump onto it to escape a chompers burrow. The warp isn't to bad, except when you get to a place that the chompers cant reach. And the sticky bomb usually is more effective than the spikeweed. And if you are stuck as a chomper on the low-gravity map, you might as well leave and hope to find a better lobby. There is only ONE redeeming factor. You can play as any scientist or chomper, (- the yeti chomper and astronaut) including the Computer Scientist, Disco Chomper, and the Unicorn Chomper. But good luck doing anything with the chompers. The only that this event could be fair is if you could play as the pizza delivery chomper.

This one is actually ok. As long as Chompers don't go all in suicide, the matches i have been in actually ended up mostly close. Like 49-50 or 50-43.
Smart play also makes a difference especially against groups. And Goop combined with a Burrow or Chomp Cannon from another Chomper can be devastating.
I've actually never sniped so many people from roofs with the Goop Cannon.
Scientists can revive others, but Chomper can eat them to deny revives.
Scientists are really only dangerous to Chompers when they are in groups. But a larger group is easily affected by Goop and Chomp Cannons.
So it all comes down to which team has better synergy, and not who spams more Scaredy-Shrooms or simply plays a objectively stronger class.

I won as both teams last night after playing several matches. It is easier as scientists for sure but this one was far better than the horrible imps vs. corn event. Working as a team is always a good idea but it really helps the chompers here to break into packs of scientists. The chomp cannon is excellent here too. I didn't use it in my first couple of matches but found it excellent as it one shots scientists that don't use the health upgrade (and very few do from my experience).
Every scientist chomped is a point for the plant that the zombies can't revive so that large scientist advantage is negated by the chompers main ability. That said relying too heavily on chomping can backfire and laying down spike weed in areas that are not too obvious really helped too.
