Good news, the chompers have been doing a lot better recently. However, the scientists still dominate more than the chompers. My main problem now is that it takes smarter play for the chompers to succeed, than the scientists. But, the chompers do very well if they all stick together, moving around the map like a pack of wolfs. If they come across a group of lots of scientists, they can each take one out with a burrow. I once saw a scientist who put his heal station down, jumped on it, and warped to an otherwise unreachable roof. Then he destroyed his station, so that not even the unicorn chompers could reach him. He then proceeded to snipe people. (SPOILER: He was a paleo) I've seen a lot more scientists warping to unreachable places. But, things are looking better.

You can't really judge one of these events from a single, or even small handful, of lopsided wins.
I've played a bunch of games as both sides and unless one team or the other is stacked with super inexperienced or super experienced players they have all been extremely close and both sides seem to be able to have a decent chance at pulling off the win.
Yes, the favored tactic for the Scientists is to group together with a tangled web of heal beams stretched between them and are able to deal massive amounts of damage in this formation to any approaching Chomper or any Chomper who burrows up from beneath- but being in such a close group means that several can be gooped at once, and several will be hit by the Chomp Cannon splash damage, not to mention if several Spray-enabled Chompers Burrow into their midst and, instead of Chomping, simply burst up and start their Spray attack- I was able to get several multi-kill streaks using that tactic with my Fire Chomper
The Scientists will almost automatically group together and start using teamwork and if the Chompers do the same; attacking using Burrow in twos and threes or more, they can easily terrorize the Scientists and turn the game in their favor. But if the Chompers just stream in individually, especially by just charging in without a Burrow, the game is either going to stay pretty even or slowly turn to the Scientists favor.

I played this a few times last night and the OP is right on. The scientists have a distinct advantage. As a chomper, you can hope to get at least one scientist before you get destroyed. I get what others have said about the chomp cannon but not everyone has unlocked that.

In my observation, only having played maybe 4-6 rounds, whichever team is smart enough to bunch up in the middle is the one that wins, at least on most maps.
