Possible solutions:
1. Go on strike: Play classic (which removes berry shooters) or don't play at all. If popcap has any brains (were not stolen by the zombies) they must have some control over how many people are playing, how many are new players, and how many have old ones have stopped playing. Going on a strike as a big group for a specific amount of time (like a week starting day X, at time X) is most effective.
2. Keep complaining: They do listen in the forums. Although not as much as we'd like. It's also possible to e-mail them directly your complains, at the e-mails they gave us with the new forum and taco dlc update. Remeber to also express your hatred towards aquafina products, and how you won't be drinking them ever again. If the advertising is counterproductive, they'll certainly take it off of make or debuff to a point where players LOVE instead of HATE the variant. You can also e-mail aquafina. Or express your hatred of aquafina in youtube videos and be heard LOUDER. The more "views" and "likes" the LOUDER your voice is.
3. Keep playing against berrys and die lots of times to them: They do see the accumulated amount of deaths that go up on which side, and tweak the characters based on performance (as seen the way they reason their tweaks in the taco dlc explanation).
My personal opinion is that a lot of startling players are choosing the berry and citrus because they come with all the upgrades, which newbies don't have for other classes. Which I think it's pretty boring. There's no effort put into the characters, so you don't feel like you grown with them.
Also, I dislike that there were only 2 variants, it used to feel like all the characters were loved the same by the developers, but now it seems like "daddy has show he loves the son X more than the others" and makes it seem unfair.
Also, I dislike that they are obviously being handsomely payed to screw a game that we paid for. That tastes like eating a bar of chocolate and finding out it wasn't chocolate, but actually **bleep**. How much do I have to pay to get a character the way I want inside the game? Is this what we'e come to?
