Battle for Neighborville Got a Minor Update?

Hey everyone, I wanted to share this video that I saw and watched just this morning. It is by Redhead Gaming and he basically explains that Battle for Neighborville recently received a minor update, that adds a couple of costumes and a very small amount of bug fixes. I believe Nintendo Switch is unaffected by some of these changes. I have attached the video below if you are interested in watching:

Now this does not mean anything major or anything, although it was stated in the video that Battle for Neighborville would become free with Amazon or Twitch Prime, which could bring a couple more costumes to the table. Currently, I am not particularly sure what to think about this unexpected minor update, although hopefully this could mean some good news.

Post your thoughts here if you want and good day! ☕

  • @TheSprinter85 Truly bizarre and out of the blue. I honestly don't see the point in releasing this update considering that BFN still suffers from numerous bugs/issues and the core game mechanics in its present state make playing this game unfun and such a chore. Once new players play this game and see/feel these things for themselves, they'll leave and won't want to play this game in the long run. What's the payoff for this update?

I'm in agreement with Stukapooka's thoughts here.

  • @TheSprinter85My only question is why now? If they can make a small change like this to bfn why not also just fixing the code for the portal in gw2 as well.

This just really strange given that bfn's been cancelled for over a year now and a lot of the fanbase has left, it really just don't understand modern popcap as its not like the game got a massive player and popularity boom or something.

Also why is the switch version the one left in the dust this time?

Seriously what the hell is going on? It's not like anyone's gonna redownload bfn just for some bug fixes and a costume so why even bother this long afterwards?

Why is a game that's been abandoned for a year suddenly getting updates for twitch? This so far out of left field it's from a different solar system.

  • I'll have to login and check on the costume(s). I haven't played BfN in a bit, so a good excuse to do so.

  • I think what everyone is not realizing here is that the game is not dead dead. I play on xbox and still find matches pretty easily at the active hours of the day. So maybe something is happening but i am not getting my hope up.

@Jacob2of3Just why now after a year after its cancellation is what everyone's thinking.

Why release a minuscule shadow update to the pc port of a game that hasn't seen content since 2020 and not even mention it?

This issue is compacted more since popcap is aboslutelty horrendous at communicating with the community and doesn't even acknolwledge that this happened.

As stated, this small update was unexpected but was worth mentioning. I'm not trying to imply that this means anything at this point, but why after such a long time has the game received an update?

If the shooters can and may get small updates like this every so often, why can't there be small changes to GW2 Town Hall and some of Battle for Neighborville's bugs?

@TheSprinter85 Popcap sadly will not give us an awnser to these questions beacuse outside of pvz 2 posts they literally don't communicate jack squat.
