Loon Skirmish is based on Loon Boon from the original PvZ. I'm sure that it's not the only one, but I didn't compare anything else, so I can't confirm it.
Garden Ops in the first game had music that re minded me of the original PvZ (where the music was calm, and kept going and became more upbeat when the waves started), kinda wished they would've kept it like that. Instead now all the waves are treated like special/challenge waves. :c
