cannot use class variants when in party

Two times now I have been grouped up with a buddy of mine online playing PvZ garden warfare and each time neither of us can use any class variants we have unlocked at all. On top of that I"m not seeing any variants in the game at all. Is there something we are missing? Is this intentional or is it some sort of bug? Also is anyone else running into this at all?

    If every one else doesn't have customization or variants you're most likely in Classic.

    Game mode wasn't mentioned in original post - just covering the bases.

    You and your friend have joined either Welcome Mat, Classic Team vanquish or Classic Gardens and Graveyards playlists. In these game modes customizations and variants are not allowed.

    I will have to double check that but I was 90% sure we joined normal gardens and graveyards we were definatly "not" in welcome mat  given it wasnt  a vanquish match.

    yeah...your right...my friend was setting up the matches I'm just going to call him a moron for a while -_-. Thanks for pointing out the stupidiy....nothing to see here move along >_>.
