Don't worry you are not alone. I have had this happen to me many times. Try turning off your router and then restarting everything. This worked for me last time.
If this doesn't work go to the internet settings on your xbox and see if there are any local network problems. I have had this happen to me about three times. It might say something like "problem with social and gaming services". If it does it means you will just have to wait until they fix it. Took me around 3 4 days tops. But hopefully the reset will be enough to fix it 🙂
