I'm not an expert on laptops, but this is indeed odd that it worked and it suddenly doesn't, even after updating the driver. I can't think of an ingame setting that would cause this either, maybe someone like @iluminatethesky could be a help here?
This is indeed an odd issue, considering you were able to play just fine before.
Do you have anything else running in the background while you're playing?
