Can't seem to get GW2 on xbox to work when I play multiplayer

Recently I decided to purchase an Xbox one x as lots of people had recommended the console to me so after a while of figuring out what to buy for the console first I decided to buy garden warfare 2. At first I could play missions but was not able to join online games of gw2 or play online with friends as the game would either freeze for ages, Crash or tell me my internet connection was not working (though I checked my connection though Xbox options and it said it was fine). I tried to uninstall and reinstall to see if it would fix and it did, for about 40 minutes, before going back to not being able to spawn into the multiplayer game (I also tried to join a friends lobby today and it crashed again). I am quite new to playing on consoles so I am quite stumped on where I can go from here apart from minor troubleshooting. But by looking through the feed of others who have had this problem it wouldn't seem there is a clear answer, If anyone can find a way to fix this bug it would be much appreciated. 

I am currently using an lg ultra wide monitor and I'm not sure if that affects the loading of the game in any way, though I would expect it to be connection issues as the problems only occur when you go online with others.
