Cats vs. Dinos and Boss Hunt Achievements
There are five different trophies (if you play on PlayStation) or achievements (if you play on Xbox) that require a couple specific modes that have not been in the Mystery Portal for quite sometime: Cats vs. Dinos and Boss Hunt. Theses game modes are a crucial part of Garden Warfare 2 because of the trophies associated with them. The last time the Mystery Portal had Cats vs. Dinos was October 2019, and the last time the Mystery Portal had a Boss Hunt was November 2019. As of this month, it will have been a year since the last time players had an opportunity to play Cats vs. Dinos, and next month will mark a year since the last time players had an opportunity to play one of the Boss Hunts.
I'm not sure what PopCap/EA's plans are for Garden Warfare 2 in 2021, but so far this is what I do know: on the first Tuesday of this October, November, and December, the mystery portal will open with one of the previous events that have been in it. That means that there are AT LEAST 3 opportunities left to have Cats vs. Dinos and Boss Hunt as one of the events that returns to the mystery portal. Many players throughout the PvZ Community would be very grateful to the developers if they make sure that both of these game modes are made accessible within these next few months. I think that this counts as a technical issue because it is hindering player's progression towards 100% completion of Garden Warfare 2, so here is our plea to the developers: please have Cats vs. Dinos and Boss Hunt be the next two events we see in the Mystery Portal this year. If this doesn't happen, there will be a large chunk of the fanbase who never got an opportunity to experience these very enjoyable game modes or an opportunity to accomplish the achievements linked to those game modes.
IF these modes do not come back to the Mystery Portal in 2020, then it would mean the world to the players if the developers changed the Mystery Portal so that the players could choose what Mystery Portal game modes they want to play, whenever they want to play them; by doing this, player's wouldn't have to wait and hope for months on end that the game mode they want to play will come to the Mystery Portal. I'm not a developer, but this seems like it would be a fairly simple transition, because you could just change the Mystery Portal UI to be more like the Multiplayer Portal UI where players can scroll through the different game modes and choose what one they want to play to search for a round. I really hope that the developers will read this post and seriously consider their options for giving the players a final opportunity to earn these achievements.
